Artful-Musings of Kathy LaRocco: August 2011
http://artful-musings-of-kathyl.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 15, 2011. 4 AM 7-10-11, all ready to leave. I don't even know where to begin. My summer has been one of hurry up and wait, stress, little art, and proud momma moments. Busy = something had to give, sadly, it was my blog. Having been away for 2 months, I was surprised to see this new lay out in Blogger. It was all about getting Colin ready for his four week workshop with the American Ballet Theater. Claire in Summer Show Case. My version of a Day of the Dead Skull. Links to this post. North...

Saturday, March 10, 2012. Twitter Art Exhibit and More: 3/10/2012. In art news, sadly there is little right now. I did finish a very small series ( 3 by 6 inches, 3 in all) called moon over Chaco Canyon for David Sandum's Twitter Art Exhibit. I did this charitable event last year and the exhibit raised about $3000 for children's books at the Moss library in Norway. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Artful-Musings of Kathy LaRocco: June 2012

Wednesday, June 06, 2012. Tidal Pool," May 2012. I get overwhelmed too easily. Why, I don't know. Some people thrive on stress, some people welcome stress with open arms, some people actually are productive under stress, some people learn how to deal with it, and others just shut down. I'm one of those that shut down, even under mild stress. Why? Colin is seventeen and it will be his first time in New York City for 6 frigging weeks, really, its OK for Mom to come along? I guess I am getting myself mental...
Artful-Musings of Kathy LaRocco: October 2011

Sunday, October 30, 2011. Skulls for the Passionate Frida. Frida, I was able to almost understand her passions, Diego, her art, and Mexico. Then when the ballet premiered, it felt almost surreal. The dancers were absolutely incredible. Because I studied Frida's life for the workshop, I could follow in depth the symbolism used in this work. It was a once in a life time opportunity. Leave my entry at that.I read some of my back logged favorite blogs today. So glad to see beautiful art. k. Links to this post.

Monday, February 13, 2012. New Years was very quiet. We spent it with neighbors who we have known for many years. Our children have grown up together. Great talk, good food, and wonderful people. Who could ask for more. I'm afraid our party days are sooo over. Marc and I rang in New York's New years and then we drifted off. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Stitchin' N Things: November 2008
http://fayehaber.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Quilting and Crafting my way through LIFE! Friday, November 28, 2008. A few months ago, I had a REAL lucky day at the casino. The end result was a NEW sewing machine! It's a Janome 6600. And is real snazzy! My friend Mary got one just like it a few days later. Now - she's been using hers alot and mine has sit in its case since then. I finally decided to get it out and put it on the kitchen table. That way, I can use it whenever I feel like it and not have to worry about taking away Audrey's play space.

Stitchin' N Things: July 2009
http://fayehaber.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Quilting and Crafting my way through LIFE! Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Several weeks ago, Jamie, Shari and Audrey (plus Granny) went to watch Abby at a Regional Horse Show in Waukesha. Thatch was also there being the "husband/groom" - a position in which he excels! When we got to the show, Audrey was a little nervous around the horses. The last time we took her to see Jigalo, she was quite frightened. She is a little girl and he is a BIG horse! In the grand scheme of things, Jigalo is an average sized.

Quilting and Crafting my way through LIFE! Monday, May 11, 2009. Can you imagine, the baby of the family has graduated! He looked sharp in his cap and gown - we were all SO proud of him! The graduation was from Northern Illinois University and he graduated with honors. From there, he will head to Houston for his job at a software company based there. We will miss him, but we are quite excited for him as well! Audrey is quite the pistol. She is so sweet one minute and meaner than a rattlesnake another!

Art: Handmade paper, paper mosaics, mixed media, surface design. Friday, May 6, 2011. Waiting for the Opportunity - Close Ups. Here are some close ups of. Waiting for the Opportunity. I love how the tight crops turn the piece into an abstract. I've always been about color and texture. With these up-close-and-personal shots you really get a look at both. Water I love this. In fact, my final for my painting class took the water idea a bit further. I'll show you this painting soon. I love the closeups!

Art: Handmade paper, paper mosaics, mixed media, surface design. Monday, May 9, 2011. Each year Kalamazoo Valley Community College has its annual student art show. Well, since I'm an official student now I decided to enter. I was juried in with my piece called. I completed this painting well before I took the Painting class this semester but rules stated that the piece entered had to have been created within the last two years so it qualified.
