Duckworks Magazine

http://duckworksmagazine.com/06/howto/paddle/index.htm

By Glynn Sirmans - Milledgeville, Georgia - USA. It just didn’t seem right to have a home-made boat and not a home made paddle. After searching the internet for free kayak paddle plans without any luck, I decided to go at it alone and come up with plans on my on. After building three paddles I think I got it down to how I like it. This makes a paddle that is fairly lite and works good for me with my Toto. Here are the basic plans. Click images for larger views). Clamps to prevent gluing them to the blades.

The Colorado Tideway: July 2008

http://thecoloradotideway.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

This blog is intended to outline the planning, construction, modification, and ultimately the sailing of a Tideway 14 from Selway-Fisher Designs. This boat is being constructed just outside of Boulder, CO. Sunday, July 27, 2008. I spoke to a nice gentlemen in Texas via email and the wooden boat forum who's also gearing up to build a Tideway. He's mocked up a small paper model at 10:1 scale of the hull, and that can be seen in the photo at the right, and there are more photos here. Links to this post.

Fiberglassing the Bottom Joints | PlywoodSkiff.org

Ramblings of an amateur…. Filling the Screw Heads. Painting the Skiff →. Fiberglassing the Bottom Joints. January 2, 2011. Fiber glassing the joints on the bottom of a boat helps seal the joints to prevent leaking and helps protect the edges of the bottom from wear and bumps. Many builders fiberglass the entire bottom of the boat although others say this just makes a bowl out of a wooden boat that captures moisture and causes rot. I’ll be fiber glassing the joints only for now! View from the stern:.

The Colorado Tideway: About the Tideway 14

http://thecoloradotideway.blogspot.com/2008/07/about-tideway-14.html

This blog is intended to outline the planning, construction, modification, and ultimately the sailing of a Tideway 14 from Selway-Fisher Designs. This boat is being constructed just outside of Boulder, CO. Saturday, July 12, 2008. About the Tideway 14. The reasons I chose the Tideway are pretty obvious. She's a small craft, capable of riding via trailer to any of the numerous lakes and reserviors in the area, and her ease of construction will be quite handy when it comes time to begin the build.

Messabout - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messabout

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Is an event where a group of people get together to discuss and "mess about" in boats. The concept is not new but the name is. The term originated in April 1990 when Joe Tribulato organized the first such event with this name. This was the beginning of the Southern California Small Boat Messabout Society, SCSBMS. The term is derived from the children's book " The Wind in the Willows. In the story, Mole and Rat are rowing up the canal. A 19'6" Phil Bolger. With 24 ch...
