Monday, October 25, 2010. Meatless Monday: Pumpkin-Chevre Pasta and Warm Brussels Sprouts Salad. Ah, the humble pumpkin! It graces us with its presence each October, ushering in a season of ghouls, goblins, candy corn, and becostumed walks of shame. The sauce was smooth, slightly tangy, and tasted deeply of autumn. Ross turned to me and said, "What is this? As he shoveled another forkful in his mouth. Me: "Why? Ross: "It's incredible." That's what I like to hear! Don't be fooled by the nacho-cheese-esque...

MANGO and GINGER: Food, Gender and Body Language
http://mangoandginger.blogspot.com/2015/07/food-gender-and-body-language.html
OTHER STUFF I LOVE. Tuesday, July 07, 2015. Food, Gender and Body Language. What an awesome thesis topic. The short version of the (also short) article at the link is that the author, a woman who just graduated from Occidental College, wrote her senior thesis about how women eat differently in front of other women vs. in front of men. She observed 76 pairs of diners at two high-end West Coast restaurants and discovered that when they're with men, women are, basically, daintier. But still - what a topic!

MANGO and GINGER: Beer Me a Beer
http://mangoandginger.blogspot.com/2015/07/beer-me-beer.html
OTHER STUFF I LOVE. Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Beer Me a Beer. It's a sudsy world these days. Between the loosening of brewing laws (locally) and a surge in craft brewing, the booze world in 2015 appears to belong to the beermakers. In 2014, craft breweries generated $19.6 billion of $101.5 billion U.S. beer sales - a 22% increase over the year. That is.a lot of craft beer. But wait, there's more. In Maryland, it's Duckpin from Union Brewing - a brew that is, these days, almost as common on restaurant men...

Searching for Paris’s Soul? Paris’s soul likes to hide during the day. It follows the Seine at night, twinkles on the tranquil river and shines on the facade of the stately Haussmanian buildings as the Bateaux Mouches dart their inquisitive beam along the quays. These days, Paris’s soul can often be found in the tiny kitchens where young chefs bow over their craft like watchmakers, slicing a steaming whole foie gras or bending a coral filet to their will. 8220;Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made, and forgot to put a soul into.” Henry Beecher. Get Real 4 Health recipes and more! Get Real 4 Health Homepage. Thursday, November 25, 2010. A couple of weeks ago, I posted a blog with an interview from my Uncle Don where he told a wonderful, funny story that reminded him about the goodness in people.
