Adventures of a Snappyjenn: Hoar Frost in Central Otago
http://snappyjenn.blogspot.com/2014/07/hoar-frost-in-central-otago.html
Adventures of a Snappyjenn. Friday, July 18, 2014. Hoar Frost in Central Otago. It was a frosty morning today in Central Otago. A hoar-frosty morning. The first one I've been lucky enough to see and capture a few photos of. There was an inversion running up the Clutha and as it was clearing it left whiteness in its wake. Spotlight on Crocs: Daly River croc attack
http://thecrocspot.blogspot.com/2009/04/daly-river-croc-attack.html
Saturday, April 11, 2009. Daly River croc attack. There has been another fatal crocodile attack. Within weeks of the young girl being taken while swimming at creek in Darwin's rural area. This time 20 year old Keith Parry disappeared. While attempting to swim across the Daly River to get some alcohol to drink from the community on the other side. He left his campsite and unfortunately his relatives looked on in horror. 80 metres down from where the attack happened. This another painful fact, however most...

Monday, April 13, 2009. Another croc news day. Another day here in Darwin and we still have plenty to talk about regarding crocodiles. During the busy Easter long weekend the inebriated fellow on the right here decided to dance on top of a croc trap in Darwin Harbour and wave to passerbys, who of course took this picture of him that was also put on the cover of todays paper. Yesterday the Minister for Primary Industry Kon Vatskalis says he is pushing. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Crocodiles are al...

Adventures of a Snappyjenn. Sunday, May 12, 2013. One very silly, but lucky, dog! The other night I was walking back to the canteen from the library and I saw some monkeys on the wall around a croc enclosure. The dogs were barking at them (as they always do) and I didn't really think much of it. Suddenly one of the bigger crocs lunged forward and the dog took off. I closed my eyes as I screamed as I was sure this was t. That dog was a very lucky dog. I have some extra grey hairs from the shock of it ...

Adventures of a Snappyjenn. Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Autumn in Central Otago. I recently had the good fortune to drive form Dunedin to Wanaka just in time to see the last of the autumn colours. I stopped at Butchers Dam just outside of Alexandra where the lake was still, clear and reflective. A very rare occurrence in these parts. The week before I had driven through and the colours were bright and crisp, they had faded somewhat after the weekends rain, but still beautiful anyway. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Adventures of a Snappyjenn. Monday, June 10, 2013. And another last day :(. Now it's time to say a fond adieu to Sri Lanka. I can't wait to come back - I found my little paradise here and I never knew it existed in this wonderful country. They're not really pesky, but they are so common - and so noisy! I would love to come back very soon and bring people who I know would love it here also. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Some of my links. The Maternity Nurse Diary. View my complete profile.

Spotlight on Crocs: Coral Bay crocodile
http://thecrocspot.blogspot.com/2009/04/coral-bay-crocodile.html
Monday, April 13, 2009. On Tuesday a large saltwater crocodile was spotted. Near Coral Bay in Western Australia. This was the first time in 10 years they had found a crocodile this far south on the west coast. The problem was they had lost sight of it again and the Easter long weekend was quickly approaching. Out of sight. Later on it was spotted again moving north and authorities deemed it a better option to shoot the animal. Instead to end the matter. August 27, 2010 at 12:11 AM. This is really fantast...
