http://classicmoto-cycles.blogspot.com/2015/02/charles-b-franklin.html
Musings Of A Motorcycle Aficionado. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Charles B. Franklin. Charles franklin was the man who modernized the Indian with the creation of the Scout. He designed a motorcycle that was reliable with its flathead engine and handled well. At the time he didn't get the credit he deserved because of politics within the Indian Moto-Cycle Company. The excerpt below is from Motorcycle Classics. Franklin’s greatest creation was the 1928-1931 Series 101 Scout. Their increased whee...1947 Ha...

Musings Of A Motorcycle Aficionado........: March 2014

Musings Of A Motorcycle Aficionado. Wednesday, March 5, 2014. 1928 Harley Davidson Peashooter. When I think of the great motorcycles that have been produced over the years I always gravitate towards the bare bones approach. The Harley Peashooter is at the top when it comes to pure racing efficiency. These bikes were produced in the 1920- and early thirties and they really excelled on the track. The racing versions were overhead valve and they could come close to the magical ton! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Musings Of A Motorcycle Aficionado. Saturday, June 29, 2013. Love Cycles UL Race Bike. This show made me want to get it finished and run it. I went to Born Free today and it was quite a show. Everything was cool until I got off the 251 and turned onto Santiago Canyon Road, the traffic was completely at a stand still. It took 2 1/2 hours to go less than 10 miles. I think a couple of thousand motorcycles passed me on the shoulder during that time. That is no exaggeration! The invited builder bikes were ver...

Musings Of A Motorcycle Aficionado........: Indian Sport Scouts
http://classicmoto-cycles.blogspot.com/2015/02/indian-sport-scouts.html
Musings Of A Motorcycle Aficionado. Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Indian Sport Scouts are often over shadowed by their brethren the Chief, but are very cool little machines. I always thought they were under rated because of their size. They are capable of pretty decent speed (120 mph in race trim) and handle well. Cannonball and the Beast.
