A Day in the Life. Of Krista and Jerome. Yesterday was the big day: mothers bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. The day started early and ended late. Surgery lasted about 6.5 hours! Time went a lot smoother with my best friend at my side (thanks Jerome! Mom was a rock. she joked with the nurses and was ready to conjure the cancer. I wa. The best news is that the cancer does not seem to be in any of the lymph nodes and most likely no further treatment will be needed!

A Day in the Life. Of Krista and Jerome. A few months gone by. Things have been extremely busy. but for the better! Jerome and I just returned from our annual cold weather get-away. This year we went on a cruise of western Mexico! Jerome and I have continued on in studies. he is enrolled in one masters course this semester and I am in 5 doctorate courses! We added a new dog to the family. she is the sweetest thing ever and her and Xena get along great. It is fun to have a 65 pound snuggler.

A Day in the Life. Of Krista and Jerome. Jerome and I decided to re-live our college years this last Saturday by attending the K-State and Iowa State game at Arrowhead Stadium. some would call this "Farmageddon". Not me. Anyway, we headed out eary in the morning at got home when the sun went down! So K-State is not very good at football right now, but there were able to pull off a win (due to a blocked field goal). Jerome and I like to say, " The were good when we were in college!

A Day in the Life. Of Krista and Jerome. As planned, dad had surgery on 8/13/09. Quite a long and stressful day for everyone. especially dad! Dr Emmott said that everything went well and smoothly (whew, a relief! While he was recovering in post anesthesia unit, he had some issues with pain control and low blood pressure. The usual one hour post recovery turned in to a 2 hour ordeal. Once he was stabilized, they moved him to his room. Dr Emmott felt he was looking good and he went home at 2pm! He is not h...

Tuesday, December 8, 2009. This holiday season is proving to be a very busy one for us. We are officially done Christmas shopping now!
