Tips for Socializing your puppy for success! | Agile Dog Training

https://agiledogtraining.wordpress.com/2013/10/14/tips-for-socializing-your-puppy-for-success

Tips for Socializing your puppy for success! October 14, 2013 at 10:06 am. We all want to give our puppy the best start in life when it comes to socializing them properly. Everyone seems to have their own idea of which ways are best in terms of socialization. The reason I choose to raise her in this manner was she had very little resiliency at a young age to get over things that scared her. She is now very comfortable in her environment, so I feel I made good choices in this area when she was young&#...

https://agiledogtraining.wordpress.com/2013/08

Archive for August, 2013. Are you sabotaging your own sucess? Have you ever felt that you just weren’t good a something? For whatever reason you try it anyways, get the exact result you were expecting, then justify it by saying, “See? I told you I’m not good at that! You then go on avoiding that skill in the future because hey, who wants to do something we’re not good at? Miraculously though, I’d be completely healed by the events that I thought I’d stand a chance in….go figure! I dismiss these thoughts ...

“You’re Late!” Tips for improving your agility timing | Agile Dog Training

https://agiledogtraining.wordpress.com/2013/11/28/youre-late-tips-for-improving-your-agility-timing

8220;You’re Late! 8221; Tips for improving your agility timing. November 28, 2013 at 4:12 pm. I think everyone in agility has heard the phrase You’re late! For some of us, it becomes a phrase that get’s repeated over and over. I remember years ago joking that anyone could teach my agility class…they just had to repeat you’re late over and over again. Of course this is a massive exaggeration, but you get the point as to how often my students were hearing it! Here are a few tips for making this adjustment:.

May | 2012 | Agile Dog Training

https://agiledogtraining.wordpress.com/2012/05

Archive for May, 2012. Training In the Rain. Agility in Canada is an all weather sport. We trial in the rain (sometimes hail and snow! So why don’t we practice in the rain? I wouldn’t want my dog’s first experience with rain to be at a trial or a regional/national event where my dog takes out jumps in the first run before figuring out their footing. If our dogs never get a chance to practice in the rain, they don’t learn how to adjust for it and then have to run a full course to try and figure it out!

http://manymuddypaws.blogspot.com/2015/01/more-adventure-and-less-procrastination.html

Manymuddypaws; a blog about dogs, training, dog sports, life, and pretty pictures too. Friday, January 02, 2015. More adventure and less procrastination. Wow January 2nd already. 2015 will likely look a lot like 2014. I have some awesome adventures planned. I plan to work hard so I can play hard. I plan to make time for my family, and spend fun times with friends. I also plan to procrastinate less. I would say that is my worst trait. So I'm going to work on that. And I will enjoy and celebrate the good s...

Manymuddypaws; a blog about dogs, training, dog sports, life, and pretty pictures too. Monday, June 08, 2015. Brit- first Open try, and Excellent Rally. Entered Brit in Open for Saturday and she rocked it! She was happy and eager and had a great time. She anticipated the recall and walked the broad jump. So we failed but I was happy despite the errors! Thanks to Liz for the great photos of her open debut! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My name is Amanda and I am addicted to dogs. ;o). manymuddypaws: This and That

http://manymuddypaws.blogspot.com/2015/01/this-and-that.html

Manymuddypaws; a blog about dogs, training, dog sports, life, and pretty pictures too. Friday, January 30, 2015. I have been training the dogs a lot. Making time for my own dogs is priority lately. I cut back an actual class so I could train my own dogs and its working well. Pixel is learning nosework. She's a total rockstar. I've decided to teach an alert right from the beginning as it was frustrating with Wicca to figure out when she actually found it. So far it's working pretty well! I know people who...

Friday, April 20, 2012. New Titles For The twocavs. The advanced gamble run was lovely for both dogs - both got the mini gamble twice and racked up a ton of points. The main gamble was a bit too hard for their current skill level - we haven't worked a lot on distance work. I was really pleased with both of them though. We have things to work on- Max is not fast off the start line so keeping his attention and having him blast off is one of my main goals for him. I want to start working a bit more distance...

http://emptynest-blog.blogspot.com/2012/12/training.html

Wednesday, December 26, 2012. My dogs keep me so honest. I have a brand new fancy training room. The dogs love it, I love it. Since my surgery though the arm has been rather sore again. My cast came off on the 21st but being only a week after becoming bionic the arm is still pretty tender. With no cast I'm nervous about bumping or having the dogs jump on it. Here is a video of Max helping me with laundry while Rylie supervises off camera. Love your training space - and what a helpful dog! Guilty Pleasure...

Tuesday, January 1, 2013. In summer we go to Say Yes summer camp where once again we learn tons. We continue to train and trial over the summer and fall and our teamwork just keeps getting better and better and we have more and more fun at each trial. I look back at 2013 and I'm grateful for health, family, friends, and the all the fun that the dogs and I have shared over the year. Happy New Year Debbie and I hope all your dreams come true! Monday, July 30, 2012. Regardless we managed to get a qualifying score under a very generous judge. It was fun. We might take some rally classes this winter during our agility hiatus. I let Engineering Dad run Rylie in the jumpers course. It was far harder than any starters jumpers course I have ever run and now I think Engineering Dad has a lot more respect for the fact that there really is some skill involved in handling! It was a good day and fun was had by all though. Sunday, July 15, 2012. Rylie got...

Sunday, September 23, 2012. Last Sunday was the CFSO picnic. Great fun with lots of Cavaliers of all sizes running around. I won a door prize again this year - Yeah! Next was our gamble run. Both dogs have been over a year without a gamble Q. Working away from me isn't something we practice a lot and while neither of them mind me being a distance. This course was ideal for us as the distance part came after they were already going. Both dogs got a Q. Sunday, September 9, 2012. 3 Did I mention it was stin...

Monday, November 5, 2012. The snooker runs weren't so good for either dog. It was the end of the day and I don't think I planned the best course but I thrilled with both dogs overall. Rylie hasn't had any soreness that I can see since so next trial I will enter him in a full day. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Guilty Pleasures: Animal Shows that are So Bad They’re Great. Are You Capable of Achieving Greatness? With the 2014 Winter Olympic Games quickly approaching, I’ve found myself inspired to reflect on how people really get to the top in their sports. What really brings people to the level of greatness? And possibly more importantly, what stops people from achieving this? Or if only I had the time, or my personal favourite If I had started younger… I could have that success too! Success comes from focus, determination, and hard work; not talent and luck.
