Mike's Thoughts

Friday, July 24, 2009. Mike Steele - Signing Off! Well, this is it. My last post. It was a short seven weeks, it was a long seven weeks. And it was everything in between. I enjoyed the presentations. Both the groups and the individuals. And again, the small class size made things more comfortable. It was the feel or presenting to a group without being overwhelmed. And again, Professor B allowed a lot of latitude, giving us freedom to be creative. Well, that's it. I enjoyed it everyone! Absolutely. In...

Mike's Thoughts: Outsourcing

http://aglimpseisimpermanent.blogspot.com/2009/07/outsourcing.html

Friday, July 10, 2009. The article and case got me thinking about my own company, and what exactly we outsource. In the broadest sense of the term, we outsource many operations, including payroll, distribution, procurement, and our data management software. The most interesting of which is the software. We use a Chicago-based company for logistics/3PL services and for a web-based data management software package. This particular software is geared towards quick-service restaurants.

Mike's Thoughts: iPremier

http://aglimpseisimpermanent.blogspot.com/2009/07/ipremier.html

Wednesday, July 1, 2009. By far my favorite case so far - of the three. Reading a dialogue was much more edge-of-my-seat entertaining that reading an expose. It really allowed the reader to read into things more so than the other cases. The words used (or not used) really established the characters thought processes and mindframe. Turley displayed remarkable composure. And as I mentioned in class, really didn't seem surprised at the crisis. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mike Steele - Signing Off!

Mike's Thoughts: Disaster Planning

http://aglimpseisimpermanent.blogspot.com/2009/07/disaster-planning.html

Tuesday, July 7, 2009. Facinating case. CareGroup got very lucky that the paper procedures worked with virtually no operational slowdowns. Without a detailed continuity plan for the new systems, this network shutdown could have been catastrophic, especially considering the industry. We aren't talking manufacturing, we talking folks possibly dying as a result. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mike Steele - Signing Off! View my complete profile.

Mike's Thoughts: Office Dynamics

http://aglimpseisimpermanent.blogspot.com/2009/07/office-dynamics.html

Monday, July 20, 2009. This isn't an IT post. In fact, this idea only just came to me about 5 minutes ago. Office dynamics plays a very large role in productivity. In fact, just 5 minutes ago, I turned to a co-worker and mentioned how much I've gotten done this morning. At that time, we both realized it was so quiet because a certain co-worker wasn't at her desk. I'm not against interaction and talking. No one can simply sit at a computer all day and work. But when it's. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

A Glimpse into the Lives...

A Glimpse into the Lives. Wednesday, October 31, 2012. We took the kids trick-or-treating to uptown which is fun because it is in the late afternoon and so you can see all of the costumes. However this year it was so crowded it was a little much for me. Don took the kids around after dinner and he said the kids ran the whole time. Towards the end Ryker got tired and sat on Don's shoulders. Tuesday, March 06, 2012. Piper - 4 months. 13 lbs 12 oz (50%). Friday, February 10, 2012. Tuesday, February 07, 2012.

Tessa- A Dear Friend at St. Stephen's. 8203; “I think it’s basic. I told you already, I’m a New Yorker and when I moved here I was looking for an Episcopalian Church. I looked and I found St. Stephen’s Church. I liked it and felt comfortable coming here to worship—and that’s what matters to me. I believe in me.”. Oh, and I love Churchill. A Glimpse of Africa

A Glimpse of Africa. This is a diary to journal and share our family's experience on our first mission trip to Africa. Thursday, October 6, 2011. The Bond Family in front of the Adventist Union Headquarters in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The last week has been a hurricane of activity. When we arrived in Bulawayo, we barely had time to settle in before launching into our first round of sermons for ShareHim. A group of elders and young men from my site. My translator,. I said a quick prayer, and put the notes down...
