ABG volunteers launched the Alameda Fruit Gleaning Initiative. In June 2011. This successful project. Gives residents with fruit trees three options for collecting and donating unused fruit for distribution to food bank clients. In December 2012, we renamed our gleaning initiative Project Pick.
