Grassroots Launceston - Innovative & Local Community Projects & Organisations: Do not despise the small work...

http://alanmelton.blogspot.com/2007/07/do-not-despise-small-work.html

Grassroots Launceston - Innovative and Local Community Projects and Organisations. Saturday, July 21, 2007. Do not despise the small work. Here's a really good quote that came to me via my children's school newsletter this week (thanks Fay):. If we just worry about the big picture, we are powerless. Sister Chan Khong, author and Buddhist nun. What a perfect motto for both this Blog and the great grassroots work it hopes to highlight. Posted by Alan Melton @ 11:55 am.

The Examiner, Friday 31 August. Amelia Viney, saw through the smoke and mirrors about traffic and sewerage, to nail the real issue - bigotry. The Examiner, Wednesday 2 September. Grassroots Launceston - Innovative & Local Community Projects & Organisations: What's the rush, worth the rush...

http://alanmelton.blogspot.com/2007/07/whats-rush-worth-rush.html

Grassroots Launceston - Innovative and Local Community Projects and Organisations. Monday, July 23, 2007. What's the rush, worth the rush. This week saw the launch of a cool new website called what's the RUSH. Put together by the young people of Launceston College with the assistance of their Alcohol and Drug Counsellor, WTR is a well presented site that provides factual information about alcohol and drug issues in language that teenagers and their parents will understand. Grassroots Launceston - Innovative and Local Community Projects and Organisations. Thursday, August 16, 2007. Vale' Mervyn John Melton 10/5/29-16/8/07. In loving memory of my father who passed away this morning. He was a man of enormous love who taught me even more about compassion than the teachings of the Dalai Lama. In keeping with the way I was raised I'd request donations to the Launceston City Mission. In lieu of flowers. Posted by Alan Melton @ 12:38 pm. Deepest sympathy to the family.

Josh, Mel and random others: February 2007

http://ourlittlecommunity.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html

Josh, Mel and random others. An overview of life within our little community. Sunday, February 25, 2007. Some Questons About Compromise. Recently Mel and I watched the movie "The Wind that Shakes the Barley." (I am going to tell the crux of the story and appolgise for those who may not have seen it! And refused to the point of death. A) Should we advertise Jesus as a product to be pursued for what He can do for us? B) Can we tap into the idol of consumerism to "sell" Jesus? My fear is that in using the a...

http://ourlittlecommunity.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html

Josh, Mel and random others. An overview of life within our little community. Thursday, December 14, 2006. I think we have a problem. I have a great concern when I read news articles like this one:. Federal regulators announced Wednesday that additional warnings about suicide risks associated with antidepressant drugs are needed. But the proposed label changes wouldn't apply to the majority of patients who take the mood-altering drugs.". FDA warnings won't hurt antidepressants". That all that is the real...

Josh, Mel and random others. An overview of life within our little community. Thursday, November 30, 2006. Rabbits for sale and New Friends. Yesterday morning Mel opened the door to a young woman and her 8-year-old son from across the road, with eyes wet from tears asking Mel if she had seen any dogs go into her yard. As it turned out while at school with her son for the recess period some dogs had broken into their rabbit hutch, killed, and eaten his rabbits. Ours is called Kevin but that’s another story.

http://ourlittlecommunity.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html

Josh, Mel and random others. An overview of life within our little community. Friday, May 25, 2007. I think I’m losing the plot (Allan you’ve been asking this question for quite some time). Something has gone wrong, and I think I know what it is, but I don’t know how to make all things spin again. I’ve had enough of taking part of this theatrical interpretation of life. I need something solid here. I can’t watch anymore as people attempt to re-enact the lives of other so-called celebrities. 1 Karmichael ...

Josh, Mel and random others. An overview of life within our little community. Friday, April 27, 2007. I have been aching to carve out some time to write some stuff, not just on the blog but in general I feel the need to journal. I've been trapped however in work at the moment, and chay the scummer doesn't leave much time to stop either. But I have to tell you. I now take my hat off to parents (mostly) they have done it tough. So maybe I'll post/journal something tonight if time permits. I feel sad when I...

Josh, Mel and random others. An overview of life within our little community. Friday, July 27, 2007. Repetition is funny thing,. Kind of like the tide, it will be back,. I will be back again in the same shoes, same desk, same headspace. Left without translation, just sighs. That could mean anything. Pain, loneliness, arrogance, displeasure, happiness. I wonder if the world will end with a sigh. No great explosions, No war, just a sigh. The questions in my head swirl. Find what drives you blah blah blah.

I have never been so scared in my life! It has taken over my thinking! So in closing. If you haven't seen the movie, watch it; it was great to watch a movie about life. Josh, Mel and random others. An overview of life within our little community. Thursday, June 14, 2007. A story - from "Lines in the Sand". The Singer and the Song. Once in the service of the High King of Elb, there was a musician named Lark. He could play the plekta till its three strings rang like thirty. He could blow the tenor netto till it wailed like a woman in labor. And when he sang, his voice was so pure, it was said that he spoke a hundred truths in a single breath. I thought you were the faires...

Sunday, June 06, 2010. My sister reminded me today that I have a blog and that the last thing I posted was that I was pregnant and having a boy. So she wanted to know if I was ever going to post anything about our family recent events, and to let you know did I have that baby? Well Sally here goes. Here's my last baby! Alan, Charlie and Melody were fascinated with their new baby brother. Especially with a family, full time job, church calling and more? With the love and support from me, his wife. It's am...
