In My Room: August 2011
http://wwwmarilyninmyroom.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 29, 2011. The calm "after" the storm. I'd like to begin, this post, by thanking everyone for their prayers and positive thoughts for helping us get through this past weekend with "Irene". It was a white-knuckle ride but we made it through and we are left with a sense of deep appreciation and gratitude for coming out of it the way we did. We have minimal clean-up, here, and were only without power for a brief few minutes! I do feel we deserve it and the calm weather will help with recovery ...

In My Room: July 2011
http://wwwmarilyninmyroom.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 31, 2011. Workshop plans.just a taste. I just wanted to share, with you, some workshop samples, that. And I worked on recently. I love Kerri's wire work with her centers of the frames! The bird and heart are just awesome! I used a transparency from a photo I took quite awhile ago for the center of my frame. We are awaiting dates from the store owner where we hold our workshops. We are targeting October for this. Exciting offering called "Plaster Encaustic Fusion". I can hardly wait for Fall!

In My Room: April 2011
http://wwwmarilyninmyroom.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 29, 2011. This is a 6 x 12 mixed-media canvas I, recently, completed. It's a la "She Art" but using my own image. I can reduce or enlarge the faces I've created and use them instead of having them just sit in my journals :). Not too long ago, I picked up some acrylic paints, on sale, and one of them is the color Citron. It's very bright and I bought it not knowing how I was going to use it or what other colors would coordinate with it. Anyone watch the Royal Wedding? Talk about "She Art"!

KO...OK?: Faux Leather & Soot Technique
http://ko-ok.blogspot.com/2008/01/faux-leather-soot-technique.html
Monday, January 28, 2008. Faux Leather and Soot Technique. My next atc class is on a Faux Leather background. We'll be using masking tape to get the basic look and then acrylic paint over the top. Best to stick to only a couple of colours as any more than 3 will make a lovely mud colour! I've just finished the background samples so I thought I'd put them up without any images or anything else on them so you can see them in all their glory. Next colours are Yellow Ochre then Quinacridone Burnt Orange.

In My Room: October 2010
http://wwwmarilyninmyroom.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 31, 2010. Well; I was anxiously awaiting a "cute little ladybug" to come visit me, today, and instead a "cute little devil" made her way to my home :). Sophia's Mom and Dad decided to take her on a tour to visit family, today, so we could all get to see her in costume. Sophia originally was going to be a ladybug but her Mom said the ladybug costume did not fit her so they had to regroup and think of another costume. I just had to share a few pics of Sophia in her costume! Halloween is thi...
