Since inception in December 2001, we have initiated 47 projects throughout the world. We successfully handed over 19 of our projects and 15 projects are still active. 13 projects were discontinued. The reasons for abandoning a project are various; they range from corruption, local mismanagement, theft or a dangerous local situation. By the end of 2015, the activities of the Ameropa Foundation have reached about 52’000 beneficiaries. More than 5’800 jobs.

At the centre of the Foundation’s endeavour is the improvement of the quality of life of people in need and the inclusion of the marginalised class into society and its social and economic system. We want to support projects based on local customs and ethical values which we comprehend and share. We wish to contribute to the development of the individual as well as groups and communities, giving them the capability to freely determine their path in life and thus integrate themselves into society.

At present, we have 15 active projects. Our geographical focus lies on Rio Grande do Norte in Northeastern Brazil, Uganda and Romania. Our most important projects are situated in these countries.
Self-help projects | The Ameropa Foundation

Self-help projects - Entrepreneurial projects. Creating jobs and income. We offer micro-credits to individuals and groups who wish to become economically independent. We provide working capital for small and middle size enterprises. We help setting up small factories/productions. Continuous technical assistance is provided at no charge. The projects can be in rural or urban areas. To receive support, projects must have a viable business plan and create jobs.
