Monday, January 26, 2009. Here is some of the stunning Chinese architecture at the temple. Labels: Tibetan Buddhist Temple. I have this thing for visiting temples here. They fascinate me. I've always been a student of world religions. Here is a Tibetan Buddhist temple up near Zhong. Dian They practice a form of Buddhism called Tantric. Here in Dec. 2008 we had to walk up many steps to the temple. We stood and listened to these monks perform. Labels: Tibetan Buddhist Temple. Thursday, January 1, 2009.

Among the Chinese: April 2008

http://www.amongthechinese.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 26, 2008. It is not too hard to learn the game of Mahjong, although I would get creamed if I ever played for money like the Chinese. It's fun! Meat on a Stick. This site brought you 'Pineapple on a Stick', now its 'Meat on A Stick.' In downtown Kunming these Muslim vendors will sell you mutton grilled very spicy and hot. It really tastes good, but watch it, it has a bite! Saturday, April 19, 2008. Powered by Pooh and Piflet? And who the heck is 'Piflet? Friday, April 4, 2008.

Can’t rush slow roast | Partially Caffeinated

https://partcaffeine.wordpress.com/2009/12/07/cant-rush-slow-roast

Observations on life, fueled by a melancholy outlook and rampant caffeine intake. Can’t rush slow roast. Several weeks ago, my friend Angela. Re-introduced me to the wonders of French press coffee. She extols its virtue not only as the superior method of brewing, but also as a nearly spiritual discipline. Because, unlike everything else in our frenetic world, the French press takes time — several deliberate steps — to complete. So I started buying fancier fresh-roasted coffee. Observations on life, fueled by a melancholy outlook and rampant caffeine intake. Last night was the annual meeting of the University of Iowa Mustache Club, a conference convened at midnight at the local Perkins. This illustrious group exists so that members may “find strength in the facial hair of their comrades” and advocate for the mustache and its survival in these scruffy times. Below is video of her speech, followed by a transcript of the same. And I thought, oh wait, oh wait, Lando Calrissian!

That’s six weeks now. Maybe something about that last post. The problem with quitting is that the longer you get away from the last cigarette, the more nostalgic you become about the habit. It’s 8:30 pm and I just popped a handful of ibuprofen like they were Sweet Tarts and the sink is full of dishes and there’s boots and shoes cast about on the hallway floor and my hair is disheveled, revealing an unwanted receding hairline. Among The Clouds With Danny Boy

Among The Clouds With Danny Boy. The Spirit Of Vitality. Wednesday, December 23, 2009. With Christmas just a couple days away I feel the need to share. I wrote this poem yesterday and I have mixed feelings about it. I'm still unsure what it means to me. When I write, it is whatever comes into my mind. Most of my poetry is not premeditated. I hope you have a warm and loving holiday, with all your friends and family with you. Merry Christmas , Dan. A gray day like today. Images flashing over a landscape.
