I came out publicly as a hard and fast supporter of hers, way back when she was a FLOTUS and still when most of my friends and colleagues were supporting Bernie Sanders for the nomination. My beautiful, funny, bright, and wonderfully impossible Mom has slipped the bonds of earthly life and embarked on eternal life in the Lord. That gives me no small measure of comfort; to know she is free of the pain she gracefully endured in her last years here, and to know she is reunited with so many she has missed desperately over many decades. So, with all the nesting projects and the crazy shuffle around here to wrap things up before the new baby comes, we thought we would have a fun family weekend with just the three of us before Sadie's big arrival. We took Sophie to the pumpkin patch on Saturday. She had a blast!
