Hidden Musings, Recited Tales: February 2013
http://hmrt.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 6, 2013. Take a Picture Me? Ryder asks me at least 10 times a day to "take a picture me? Usually this just means that he wants to hold my phone and make funny faces at himself. Every once in a while he will (sorta) hold still long enough for me to actually hit the button and capture a pic. Until it was taken down. I don't get a lot of these moments anymore. Nothing warmer than a sleepy toddler. Monday, February 4, 2013. Wish I Had a Picture. Sunday, February 3, 2013. I haven't yet fig...

Hidden Musings, Recited Tales: April 2012
http://hmrt.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 5, 2012. We were lucky enough to have two incredibly talented photographer friends take pictures of Ryder for us. Ryder wasn't feeling very smiley the day we met up with Nicole (www.nicolelogginsphotography.com), but she managed to capture many of his everyday expressions and postures. Scott (www.scottpereira.com) also managed to snag some great shots. The cradle was made by a family friend when I was born. Later that week we had a little party underneath our tree. Hidden Musings, Recited Tales: May 2013
http://hmrt.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 16, 2013. So, I'll soon do an update post. The one that explains why I broke my commitment to write and all that. In the meantime though, I am posting this little gem of a story. Potty-Training Tales, Part 1. Tyler was demonstrating how one stands up to pee. After watching the process, Ryder assumes the position. When nothing happens, he looks down and declares, "It's broken. Needs new batteries.". Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Los Angeles, CA, United States. View my complete profile.

Hidden Musings, Recited Tales: Raven's Story: The Birth
http://hmrt.blogspot.com/2013/10/ravens-story-birth.html
Thursday, October 3, 2013. Raven's Story: The Birth. Thursday, October 3, 2013. I am still such a whirlwind of emotion that it is hard for me to even begin writing Raven's story. With Ryder, it was the experience of pregnancy and childbirth that was difficult and frightening. Now, after a fairly uneventful pregnancy, I have a baby in the NICU. She is going to be fine. I can't wait until I can look back on this week as a memory. The shot took the edge off the contractions, but didn't stop them. It did...

Hidden Musings, Recited Tales: August 2011
http://hmrt.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 15, 2011. Letter to my Baby: Week 34. Week 34 Friday, May 20. Another month is gone and you are now 8 months old! How did this happen so suddenly? In so many ways it feels like we are just getting used to having a baby in the house, and already you are headed towards toddlerhood. Just in these last weeks you have started doing so many things you haven’t done before. Like your daddy says: “It’s like we just get to watch him get smarter everyday.”. You push yourself all the way up with your ...

Friday, May 20, 2011. Letter to my Baby: Week 23 and 24. Monday, February 28, 2011 &. Sunday, March 6, 2011. Momma is now counting down the days until I get to be home with you full-time again. I am really excited, although will miss my co-workers and clients. More and more you recognize and want to be with the people you know. Sometimes you even are picky about which person that is! Today I took you from daddy so he could do something and you complained and yelled until daddy took you back again! Yester...

Hidden Musings, Recited Tales: January 2011
http://hmrt.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 10, 2011. Letter to my Baby: Week 15 and 16. Monday, January 10, 2011. I thought several times over the last week about sitting down and writing your letter, but the reality is I just didn’t have the energy! Fortunately, you fought it off really well. You were even pretty happy, although less smiley, and just slept a whole bunch. By Saturday (New Year’s Day) we could tell you were feeling better. The only problem was you passed the cold on to mommy and daddy! You are now 16 weeks old and ...

Hidden Musings, Recited Tales: Raven's Story: The NICU
http://hmrt.blogspot.com/2013/10/ravens-story-nicu.html
Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Raven's Story: The NICU. I have thought about writing these updates everyday since Raven arrived. I just haven't felt strong enough to do it - physically or emotionally. I'm not sure I can capture with words the impact of this week. We aren't through it yet, but coming home is starting to feel closer. (Written Day 4). Launches himself into taking care of business with a vengeance. Spends the morning on the phone with insurance, the hospital business office and work. Leav...Start...

Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Letter to my Baby: Week 30. Week 30 Wednesday, April 20. Today you are 7 months old! I’m not sure when the transition happened but I find myself now counting our age in months instead of weeks. I also find myself thinking about you getting bigger and becoming a toddler and child. I am having so much fun with you right now as a baby, but am also starting to look forward to the other new adventures we are going to have together. You are getting very mobile, although you still aren&#...

We are loving having such a happy, alert little baby to hug and play with. Today you had your six month check up. You are 15 lbs, 15 oz (25%), 27.5 inches (75%). Your head size is 46.5 (100%! It was so funny to see you little face pucker up, following by a huge grin! Your Poppa was sweet to have Granni stay and extra couple...
