I’ve been tying up some loose ends from Hacker School, including Friendly Bets, an app that lets you keep track of and settle bets you make with friends. In the app, a user can have many bets and a bet can have many users — a many-to-many relationship which requires a join table. And what an ugly join table it was! TL;DR The join table had a fuzzy name that was masking some fuzziness at the the core of the application.
