Ann was daughter of Andrew Ramsay, baronet of Whitehill, and through her Robert Wardlaw Ramsay. Inherited Whitehill and the name Ramsay. After her death her furniture was described for its auction:. Most Aitkins came from the Scottish lowlands. Nancy (1817). In 1841 a Nancy Crawford aged 20 was a servant at 2 Grove Street, Musselburgh, in the house of Robert Aitken (age 45), leather factor. Thomas was a navy captain who, after travelling the globe in his youth, appears to have retired from active service after his marriage to raise a family in Edinburgh. Like Daniel Sandford. Charlotte was 28 when she married the 70-year-old heirless baronet of Tullyquhoun, George Colquhoun, and gave him three healthy sons before he died eight years later. Yet while he might have died happily, she saw two of them perish in war, and the third also died childless, so the baronetcy of Tullyquhoun went extinct after all.
