Eclectic Etc.: 05.15
http://eclecticetc.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
This piece was made for the Dinosaur show at Two-Tone Gallery. For the month of June. For some reason I had collected an amount of plastic dinosaurs and now I am glad that I did. :). Very simple composition and technique. I wanted the dinos aligned from darkest/earth tones to bright neons. They are mounted on a piece of rusty metal that I saved from tearing my old grill apart a couple of weeks ago. I used a clear encaustic fill to hold them in place. Posted by Beth Moore. Eclectic Etc.: Tiny Industry
http://eclecticetc.blogspot.com/2015/04/tiny-industry.html
While I am making an effort to create bigger artworks, I can't get away from the tiny ones. This is my submission for the Nashville Tiny Gallery. The piece is 1.25"x 1.25" and made of tiny screws, gears, wires, and fuses. Everything is mounted on a bigger wooden gear with a felt base. The hot glue marks drive me crazy on this, but it's as good as I could get it on this scale. :/. Posted by Beth Moore. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Browse Works by Theme. Eclectic Etc.: Florasaurus
http://eclecticetc.blogspot.com/2015/06/florasaurus.html
Another work for Two-Tone Gallery's June Dinosaur show. This is the Florasaurus. It is an encaustic collage with a drawn dinosaur, paper scraps, flowers and encaustic paint. And a picture for size reference. My biggest encaustic collage so far. Posted by Beth Moore. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Browse Works by Theme. Bethmoore2011. Awesome Inc. template. Eclectic Etc.: Lux Mentis Lux Orbis
http://eclecticetc.blogspot.com/2015/03/lux-mentis-lux-orbis.html
Lux Mentis Lux Orbis. This is an encaustic collage with an illustrated background and "found" light bulbs (mostly from cars, I think). The background is a drawn replica of one of Thomas Edison's lightbulb patents and was one of the harder things I've ever drawn. Seems easy, just lines, but getting them all to go where they need with no understanding of their purpose was challenging. This is my first piece to have a 2-way fill, pretty easy and turned out nice. Posted by Beth Moore. Browse Works by Theme.

Eclectic Etc.
http://eclecticetc.blogspot.com/2015/05/this-piece-is-composition-of-old-toys.html
This piece is a composition of old toys that I can never seem to place in other pieces. It is difficult to work in colorful plastic objects into works that are often minimalist, neutral, and rusty. So they get their own piece. While it is mostly a haphazard composition, I did try to select only objects that had primary colors, skin tones, or black and white to keep things cohesive. Enjoy some photos while I struggle to find a title for this piece. Posted by Beth Moore. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Eclectic Etc.: Commissions
http://eclecticetc.blogspot.com/p/commisions.html
1 Select a Theme. I'll need to know what "theme" to play with when creating your artwork. It can be a broad theme such as "nature", as simple as a color scheme, or based on imagery like "animals" or "cities". Choosing a theme first lets me know what kind of art to create. 2 Choose a Size. Choosing a size helps determine the amount of detail I can add. It also determines the price of the piece. Click here to find the online commissions request sheet. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Eclectic Etc.: Untitled Mouse Piece
http://eclecticetc.blogspot.com/2015/07/untitled-mouse-piece.html
A small piece to share today. Anyone who knows me may have noticed that I have a new job teaching at an elementary school. While that is great, it does mean that the past month has been summer camps and getting ready for next year. I do plan to make more pieces this week in preparation for the Folk N' Art Fest next weekend. This work is a piece of bark, book page, wax, and various metal bits with a mouse skull. No deep meaning, just a study of color and texture. Posted by Beth Moore. Browse Works by Theme.
