The Not So Big Garden: Springtime in the Fall
http://notsobiggarden.blogspot.com/2012/10/springtime-in-fall.html
The Not So Big Garden. Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Springtime in the Fall. An iris thinks it's Easter. And here are some updated pics of the dry creek bed I'm building. It's sort of on hold while we wait for the city's approval to build a little second residence in the back yard. Its plumbing may have to go right through where my creek is. A Turk's Cap, above. These grow like weeds here. Best in part shade. They hold up around a lot of child's play too. April 8, 2013 at 9:55 AM. Welcome to our Xeriscape.

Creative Soul: Creativity and Ideas
http://creativesoulbydebmc.blogspot.com/2011/02/creativity-and-ideas.html
Living a creative life in an uncreative world. Wednesday, February 2, 2011. Where do creative ideas come from? I think they are in the air waiting to be harvested. How many times have you had an idea, maybe for a story or a book, maybe for an invention, maybe for.who know what? The same with ideas.when they are fed, nurtured, sheltered, watered, and made safe, they flock to you. What ideas do you need to encourage and feed? In what ways can you offer a nurturing, safe environment for them to make a home?

Creative Soul: What's NORMAL?
http://creativesoulbydebmc.blogspot.com/2012/03/whats-normal.html
Living a creative life in an uncreative world. Saturday, March 10, 2012. I said it to myself just now."when all this is over, life will get back to normal.". And how can I go through all this and then return to a "pre"-state? I'm glad for that. 5 Other Creative Souls are Saying:. March 10, 2012 at 4:39 PM. So happy to see you writing! Just think of the things you will get to write in this new normal. Big hugs! March 10, 2012 at 8:19 PM. DebD (from HSC - which I havent been to in YEARS either.). In every ...

A Chef Learns to Garden: Spring ?
http://acheflearnstogarden.blogspot.com/2011/01/spring.html
A Chef Learns to Garden. Some hits( and a few misses) from my kitchen and garden. January 20, 2011. As temperatures dipped into the 40's this afternoon and a cold front promised another hard freeze in Austin tonight, nature is saying "Spring" rather than winter in parts of my garden. These daffodils were poking there heads through the ground and others nearby were 12 inches tall, looking like they are about to burst into bloom. The tall ones broke ground mid- December, believe it or not. A Way to Garden.

The Bee Hive: FALAFEL
http://wanderinglily.blogspot.com/2012/08/falafel.html
Sometimes it's honey; sometimes it's sting. Tuesday, August 14, 2012. I was intrigued by Keith Petrus' photos and mention of falafel on his Facebook blog, so yesterday I went shopping for dried garbanzo beans and put them on to soak overnight. Strangely, they started clicking and pinging about 5 hours in. That was pretty amusing. Posted by Wanda @ 7:03 PM. At 9/08/2012 3:07 PM. Hummus ended up everywhere. Dumb, I know, but what can you expect at 3 am? Apparently not common sense! At 12/17/2012 2:00 PM.

Saturday, June 09, 2012. Carried in Hot Air Balloons. Oh, dear friends,. Come travel with me. And see the wider world,. We will fly and tread upon sunlit clouds. On air currents paved with sunbeams,. Carried in hot air balloons. We will exclaim over the tree tops,. And complain of the traffic. When caught in flights of migrating birds. Traveling to more clement climes,. Carried in hot air balloons. Eating peaches, mangoes and plums,. We’ll plant unlikely orchards,. Spitting the seeds over the sides.

Suburban Wildlife Garden: Welcome to Texas
http://suburbanwildlifegarden.blogspot.com/2010/11/family-move.html
After moving from Florida to Austin in 2006 I found myself longing for the wild places I left behind. This blog documents my humble attempts at transforming a small, relatively barren suburban lot into a wildlife-friendly oasis. Thursday, November 4, 2010. After a long, six-month process, my parents and sister have moved from Missouri to a sweet neighborhood in Georgetown, Texas. Their house is a 40 minute drive from mine, which is a big improvement from 13 hours. Around the cat's face. Wrens are so fuss...
