Ever since he first bought his own car when he was 27, he has seen cars as a necessary luxury (however oxymoronic that might sound). In my opinion, there are only a few more reasonable excuses than this. Being late, especially repeatedly, is unprofessional and rude. Don’t do it. If you make a commitment, stick to it (barring terminal illness). They notice. It makes a difference.
