Beantown to the Big Island. This blog follows our life abroad in Tokyo, Japan. 6/10/08 through? Saturday, June 28, 2008. Ueno Park and Zoo. In late June, Nikki and I went to the Ueno district, which is about a 20-minute train ride North from the center of Tokyo – where we were staying at the time. Ueno was one of the working-class areas of Tokyo and is famous for its enormous park, national museums, zoo, and many streets lined with small shops. Wednesday, June 25, 2008. A cool looking red structure.

Beantown to the Big Island. This blog follows our life abroad in Tokyo, Japan. 6/10/08 through? Wednesday, June 25, 2008. I thought it was important to show you guys that yes, there are open areas with grass, trees and water in Tokyo! Taken at a park in Hiro-o (a big expat "with family" area). There were a few cute old men fishing in this pond. See them back there? Crossing over the bridge to the beach. Looking back from the beach to the glass look-out tower/building. Some pretty cool looking stumps.

Beantown to the Big Island: Golf in Japan

http://beantowntothebigisland.blogspot.com/2008/07/golf-in-japan.html

Beantown to the Big Island. This blog follows our life abroad in Tokyo, Japan. 6/10/08 through? Friday, July 4, 2008. On July 4th, I took the day off and joined a few coworkers for my first round of golf in Japan at Gotemba West. Many of the fairways had large grass bunkers - a huge bunker of thick grass in the middle of the fairway. Much harder to recover from and easier to lose a ball in compared with a traditional bunker. December 2, 2008 at 4:45 AM. December 10, 2008 at 9:39 PM. Island Pond Road Rally.

The Ciaccias: June 2009

http://theciaccias.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 28, 2009. It was an absolutely beautiful day in Boston yesterday. The weather has been pretty bad for the past several weeks, so we took advantage of the great day. Jeremy had suggested earlier in the week that we walk the Freedom Trail, Boston's historical walk through significant. The trail itself is 3 miles long and takes you through Boston Common to the Massachusetts State House. Around the corner from the burying ground is King's Chapel and Burying Ground. Park Some famous people who at...

The Ciaccias: September 2008

http://theciaccias.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 30, 2008. On Saturday we boarded a luxury launch for the hour and a half ride to White Island. Thankfully we took our seasickness pills as most of the people on the boat got pretty ill from the ride. After we arrived at White Island we hopped onto a small raft that took us to shore. We were equipped with hard hats and gas masks and began the tour. Monday, September 29, 2008. Jeremy was thrilled when I brought the mail as his official New Zealand Driver's License arrived today. I'll...

The Ciaccias: April 2009

http://theciaccias.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 25, 2009. Group Tour Through Vietnam. It's been a busy few days for us and we are already into day #2 of our 10 day group tour through Vietnam. Where did we leave off? This morning we visited the Cu Chi Tunnels, which is where the town and soldiers hid from American soldiers in the "Anti-American War" as they call it here. We got to crawl into tiny hiding spots and through a very claustrobic tunnel, but it was a neat experience! Thursday, April 23, 2009. The Kingdom of Cambodia. We are fi...

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. It was not our intention at all to skip blogging about the end of our travels. Sorry for the delay. After a couple more days in the Stuttgart area, we headed out of town on our way to Munich, where Jochen, Susanne, Jeremy and I planned to meet up with some friends from our time in New Zealand - a little Kiwi reunion! We were whisked off to a local bar for some more drinks to wrap up our amazing adventure. Tuesday, May 12, 2009. Sunday, May 10, 2009. Germany has been great so far an...

Sunday, November 30, 2008. Carnival and Santa Parade. Thursday, November 27, 2008. We hope that everyone is having a very Happy Thanksgiving. We look forward to celebrating with you next year. Our Thanksgiving dinner was a bit of a mess and we are happy that we got to have one earlier in the week with friends. The turkey didn't cook quite right, so we had some salad, rolls and chocolate pudding for dinner. Oh well! Wednesday, November 26, 2008. Only a couple days left. Monday, November 24, 2008. Beantown Today

Sunday, October 12, 2008. Rays Down Sox in Game Two. Hey, fellas, it was only Game Two, not the series! I actually watched the entire game. Well, almost, I did nod out from time to time during the five hour battle. I did watch the entire fifth inning, which was amazing. Over fifty-three minutes, and three solo homers from the Sox. If you watched the game, you know what kind of excitement was generated. Then the long drought . everlasting for the Sox. What a shame. Links to this post. Links to this post.

Michael S. Milnarik. Tuba Player and Teacher. Tuesday, June 9, 2009. Have you ever used a tuba stand? 160;What is a tuba stand you ask? 160;It's basically a tripod that has a holder on the top that you can rest the bottom of your tuba on while playing.  Actually some companies call it a "tuba rest.". My leg no longer hurt! In many situations we do not have control over the chairs that we sit on for gigs, rehearsals, music lessons, etc.  Ever sit on one of those plastic "wedding chairs?
