Becky's Biscuits

Monday, June 6, 2016. Pickled Ramps or Pickled Garlic. Decisions, Decisions. I was lucky enough to find a field of ramps and then figure out what the H-E double hockey sticks to do with these ramps. A ramp is a wild leek, for those who are wondering what they are. So, I pickled some of them. YUMMMM- MEEEE! Ramps aka Wild Leeks. And then lo and behold I have a friend who has a ridiculous amount of garlic. She pondered, "What if you treated these multitudinous garlic the same way you treat a ramp? Water pr...

Becky's Biscuits: Lime Chicken!!!

http://beckysbiscuits.blogspot.com/2014/08/lime-chicken.html

Friday, August 1, 2014. Okay So that excellent idea with the lemon slices tastes even better with lime slices! So do exactly what I wrote in this blog:. Http:/ beckysbiscuits.blogspot.com/2014/07/grilled-lemon-chicken.html. BUT, use limes! It would taste good with fajitas or something of that ilk, too. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Becky's Biscuits: May 2014

http://beckysbiscuits.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 12, 2014. I bought C#1 a new pair of sneakers last Thursday. His old pair was losing the sole and were torn to shreds on the inside. Four days later, these brand new, beautiful, apparently cheap, poorly made, pieces of crap already had a hole in them. WHAT? Well that won't do. The last time I bought a cheap pair of shoes from this store they lasted almost a year. Sheeeeesh! Here's what I did. 2 lb ground beef. 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese. 1/2 tsp black pepper. Sadly I didn't take a picture...

Becky's Biscuits: December 2013

http://beckysbiscuits.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Monday, December 30, 2013. I decided I needed more sweets this holiday season and made fudge. Lots and lots of fudge. The favorite was cinnamon. The original recipe was for peanut butter, but, I tweaked it. I got the recipe out of the book Eagle Brand Classic Recipes. 2 (10 ounce) packages peanut butter flavored chips I used cinnamon chips and I have the sneaking suspicion that any other type of chip might work, too. 1 ( 14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (NOT evaporated milk.). I added some pictures...

Becky's Biscuits: October 2013

http://beckysbiscuits.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Saturday, October 5, 2013. I had a partial can of pumpkin pie filling and I did not know what to do with it. I was looking through a magazine and came upon an idea. Pumpkin Pie Shake! The recipe that ignited my idea was not a shake - - but, I altered it to make even yummier! 1/2 cup canned pumpkin pie puree. 1 cup vanilla ice cream. 3/4 cup apple cider. Healthy shake of cinnamon. 3 TB maple syrup. Everyone loved this and said it tasted like pumpkin pie! It was definitely a good use of extra pumpkin.

Becky's Biscuits: November 2013

http://beckysbiscuits.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Wednesday, November 27, 2013. I made my normal amount of crust and ended up with leftovers. I also made a dessert just for C#1 and ended up with extra pumpkin. What to do! I then thought why not mush the pie crust into the muffin tins and figure out a pumpkin pie filling. And this is what I came up with. Pie crust to mush into the bottom of a muffin tin. 1 package of yellow cake mix (or whatever flavor works for you.). 1 1/2 cups pumpkin. 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie seasoning. 1 teaspoon baking soda. Thanks t...

Becky's Birding Blog

A journal of the birding happenings around Sunny Morning Farm. Friday, December 31, 2010. How to bring in the Northern Cardinals. We have had a very warm and sunny day today even though you see all the snow in these pictures, it is melting fast! I just had to get outside and do a little hands on, decorating if you will, trying to make the area a little more bird friendly. I placed this tarnished silver dish on the gazing ball stand and put some feed in it. Seems he likes nice dishes too! So my friends, i...

Beckys Bits and Bobs

Beckys Bits and Bobs. I am making this blog to sell all of my handmade goodies including cards, jewellery and canvas art. Friday, 12 August 2011. So its been a while since i've updated the blog as i've been busy with my nephews christening one weekend then i was on a hen do the next! However, I have managed to make a few things during the week. The first being a few rings. I made them by knitting the band in bright, colourful wool then adding buttons to make them eye catching.
