Birding

http://birdsofberkshire.co.uk/otherSites.html

Because Berkshire is, generally, a very well watched county all of these lesser sites can hit the headlines for a rarity. It might well be that SloughSF doesn't merit a place on the front page anymore and some of these sites do. Well. This will link to pages with minimal site information (at least for the present).

BoB Moor Green

http://birdsofberkshire.co.uk/Moor%20Green%20Lakes.htm

Aka Eversley gravel pits, Moor Green is a series of lakes just north of Blackwater river [the border with Hampshire]. It is quite mature now with lots of vegetation. There are a couple of hides which are generally locked but you can look through the screens to see almost everything. It's great for ducks and a winter morning visit can be breathtaking. The walk along the river can produce hundreds of finches. It can however get busy after ten on weekends.

Sibe2 | Birding over my head

Birding over my head. Look up, see more stuff. Best of the rest of the recycled highlights. January 11, 2013. I was browsing recent Berksbirds photos. Last night and noticed this striking fellow. In a picture taken by Linda Garner-Langham at the west end of Sandford Lake. Fraser Cottington has confirmed that the bird is still present today, and is looking good for Dinton CP’s first. Landlocked birder with limited horizons, usually not looking at them. View all posts by PaulBT →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Garden | Birding over my head

https://birdingovermyhead.wordpress.com/garden

Birding over my head. Look up, see more stuff. Birding Over My Head pays a lot of attention to my garden, since that’s where I do a substantial amount of my birding. So here’s some more information about the garden and its surroundings. No need for the zoom. Birding is occasionally done, even deliberately, from the front garden; it has a lawn and a mature rowan tree, which attracts thrushes, Starlings, and even Waxwings. The brook after heavy rain. The marsh soon after dawn. Some distance to the W there ...

And happily together, I might add! As we’re approaching our 5 year anniversary (crazy! I guess that put us ahead of the game on that trend. 🙂 Of course I modeled the who...
