I had to attend a court hearing to apply for vacant possession of one of the properties I manage. (Real Estate Institute of Tasmania www.reit.com.au) Vacancy rates rose slightly in Launceston to 3.4% and decreased in Hobart to 4.0%. Average time for an agency to rent a property in Launceston was as follows. Less than one week: 3.3%. 1 – 2 weeks: 16.7%. Greater than 2 weeks: 80%. Average time to rent a property in Hobart was as follows. Less than one week: 10.6%.
