After the install of Windows XP do the following :. 1) Turn off Hibernate and remove the Hibernate file from the root ( C: ) ( file is 300mb ). 2) Turn off System Restore on ALL drives. 3) Move the Pagefile to another drive like D:. 4) Go into MSCONFIG and on the tab "startup" remove all the crap you do not need. 5) Advanced Settings : see Below. Go to Start Programs Admin Tools services. Click "STOP" to stop it if it is running.
