Mrs.Bross' reading blog: November 2014
http://brossclassroomz323.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Mandi Bross's favorite books. Wednesday, November 19, 2014. I Love Book Lists! I personally had read 16 out of 40, which isn't a great percentage, but of those 16, some of them honestly helped shaped my childhood as a reader. This one actually doesn't need much of an explanation. This is the second time I can remember crying in school about something I was reading (the first time was during Where the Red Fern Grows. She has no birth certificate. And thus the story begins. Why doesn't she have one? Seeing...

Mandi Bross's favorite books. Wednesday, May 14, 2014. The circus comes to town! Sidenote - have you ever typed a word and it looked like it was spelled incorrectly? That's what just happened to me with the word "circus." Not like that's a hard word to spell.it just didn't look right! I had to double-check the spelling with the book title! Which brings me to the actual point of this post, which is to tell you about The Night Circus. There are no nets. Pretty cool, huh? 2 The chapters are short. I lik...

Mrs.Bross' reading blog: Possibly the strangest book I've ever read...

Mandi Bross's favorite books. Thursday, January 7, 2016. Possibly the strangest book I've ever read. Happy New Year, readers! I hope 2016 is off to a great start for everyone, and that you have all set your 2016 reading challenges on Goodreads! I was pretty ambitious this year and set mine for 40 books. If my usual pattern holds, a great deal of these will be read over the summer months! I am currently reading the book Going Bovine. Not really, and I'm not sure I understand why the book won this award.

Ms. Cohen's Blog: Featured Friday Blogger! 3/21
http://cohenclassroom109.blogspot.com/2014/03/featured-friday-blogger-321.html
Friday, March 21, 2014. Today I showcased the first Featured Friday Blogger of the trimester! To not skip the prologue (as we so often do). It certainly captured my attention when she revealed the narrator, death! When she says "starts stealing books from book-burnings led by Nazis." We may think of the society in. Mrs. Palmer's Book Blog: May 2015

Mrs Palmer's Book Blog. Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Three Weeks with My Brother by Nicholas Sparks. If you've never read anything by Nicholas Sparks, I will summarize his works in a few words. Cheesy. Romantic. Sappy. Predictable. I think you get the drift. And that's not always bad. I love reading these books when I want to read something romantic or that doesn't make me think too hard. The story lines are simple and easy to follow; that's not necessarily a flaw. So when his memoir,. Quote #2: “You&#...

Mrs Palmer's Book Blog. A 9th grade teacher's thoughts and opinions on literature! Laura Palmer's favorite books. Wednesday, November 19, 2014. I Promise I've Been Reading. Somehow, almost an entire month has gone by since my last post, though it's not for lack of reading. I've had a pretty busy month. Sick kids. A crazy puppy. School. A fallen tree in my backyard (due to Polar Vortex 2.0). I guess the time just got away from me. Too predictable and mushy. And I like predictable and mushy. 0 of 50 (0%).

Mrs Palmer's Book Blog. A 9th grade teacher's thoughts and opinions on literature! Laura Palmer's favorite books. Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Are any of you on Facebook? The pressure is too much. But I recently finished a novel that I feel confident I would place on that list of top ten. It is called The Goldfinch. Then that is plain 'ol good writing. Can't good come around sometimes through some strange back doors? Tartt 758). This line addresses that earlier notion of Theo not always making the ...
