The Phoenix Suns and Playoff "Injustice" - HoopDon
http://hoopdon.weebly.com/articles/the-phoenix-suns-and-playoff-injustice
All Time MVP Snubs. The Phoenix Suns and Playoff Injustice. Whose article I must credit for breaking the Camel's (me) back. My position, which I will articulate below, can be summarized as such. The inclusion of the Phoenix Suns, and teams like them, won't increase league popularity or alter the results of the Playoffs. Therefore, we'd do better to avoid unnecessary rule-changes or narrative building. Who cares if the Suns can be exciting, if they have improved players, and if Bledsoe can jump high?

All Time MVP Snubs. NBA Finals Performances 2000-2013 AWS. Despite all the mystique surrounding the NBA Finals in the basketball world, relatively little has been done to rank/tabulate these games. The best attempts I've seen usually involve ranking Finals Performances by Game-Score, which while something, is clearly not the optimal way to approach this. Top 30 Finals Performances 2000-2013. How did you determine strength of opponent, and account for it? Read my awesome stuff at. Stats for the NBA.

Magnitude Matters: Choice: When Less Is More
http://www.magnitudematters.com/2015/06/choice-when-less-is-more.html
The Journey is the Destination, Keep Moving . . . Sunday, June 28, 2015. Choice: When Less Is More. Last week I attended the annual Morningstar Investment Conference in Chicago, Illinois. Of course, I didn't wear my sunglasses (a little inside money management humor). Capitalism can't win. If the consumer has to make the choices, they are overwhelmed (according to the likes of Sanders). If someone makes the choices for them, some leave unhappy- no doubt spoiled by the unrealistic cornucopia that ...The F...

Magnitude Matters: The Tourist's Perspective

The Journey is the Destination, Keep Moving . . . Monday, July 20, 2015. Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime. Some are better at it than others. Some travel with a sense of obligation to see the things they are supposed. Is always 'how much do you got? A good tourist is an observer who ...

Magnitude Matters: Why Are We Afraid Of Getting Smarter?
http://www.magnitudematters.com/2015/05/why-are-we-afraid-of-getting-smarter.html
The Journey is the Destination, Keep Moving . . . Saturday, May 9, 2015. Why Are We Afraid Of Getting Smarter? What I would watch for over the next 15 years are developments that enable humans to evolve more rapidly, in order to compete with machines. That is from Arnold Kling discussing. Vinod Khosla's essay about the next technology revolution. Will they be an it or a they (a collective like the Borg or individuals)? Will they be Mr. Spock or Navin Johnson? It is much easier to imagine the elimination ...

The Wooden Finger: AFL Power Rankings: Round 18 2015
http://troywheatley.blogspot.com/2015/08/afl-power-rankings-round-18-2015.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. AFL Power Rankings: Round 18 2015. The rankings suggested that the Magpies were going to come back to the pack on the ladder once they got around to playing the tougher clubs, but this week’s loss to Melbourne is a more concerning development. From being considered one of the eight best sides in these rankings last week, Collingwood is now only considered the tenth best club, which seems pretty much in line with their finals chances from here on in.
