Pic Me Up: Colors in the Crayon Box
http://picmeupphotos.blogspot.com/2015/07/colors-in-crayon-box.html
Thursday, July 30, 2015. Colors in the Crayon Box. I admire the colorful photographs of picture-makers like Robin Craig. Whether capturing the color and culture of travels around the world, that's Robin, or the energy of London life with family in tow, that's Xanthe, their photographs are vibrant and alive. And perhaps, Dull As Dirt. Riding toward Belle Plains in Stafford . . . laundry, bright and clean and eye-catching. I found a a few pops of Radical Red. Cause summer is slipping by too quickly. These ...

eye+heart+photo: June 2008
http://eyeheartphoto.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 4, 2008. A blow to the head. Then there was a loud roaring sound. Gas-fire. My family watched it burn to the ground for over 11 hours with flames up to 70 feet in the air. At one point, the police moved everyone about 300 meters back and the heat was still too hot to not avert your face. I experienced first-hand what it was like to be horrorstruck and have the local media there with cameras. Links to this post. My home away from home. I'm so lucky to have them in my life. Friday, May 30, 2008. Meet Me in St. Louis! But I can't say I was completely. Alone I'll never forget the musicians, who were the first performers to warm up to me. Certainly, I owe a lot to Hovey (78 years young at the time! I moved to the historic Soulard. One night, when I was coming back from the circus, I found by a gate the book The Outsiders. And what's the relevance of me writing all of this? Well, when the Washington Post reporter asked me why I do photojournalism, specifically photographing sub...

Pic Me Up: Meanwhile There Are Letters
http://picmeupphotos.blogspot.com/2015/08/meanwhile-there-are-letters.html
Saturday, August 1, 2015. Meanwhile There Are Letters. In the spirit of saving mail from extinction, I share with you this letter from one friend to another. To my dear friend,. Because we both simply showed up, hearts wide open, we began this friendship. It's a funny story, isn't it? Shared passions brought us together - making things, making life count, making a difference. I know you and you know me. Really well. Because we correspond by mail. Thank you, sweetie pie! As usual, I must recommend a new b...

Pic Me Up: A Closer Look
http://picmeupphotos.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-closer-look.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. I admire those of you who know you are. You instinctively make wise choices. You say No, even to good things, to keep your life balanced. You make decisions in a straightforward manner, in accordance with your solid sense of self. You are an oak. I am not like you. My foundation is sound, but I sway quite a bit, more like a willow. I often find myself wondering - maybe? Life can make us forget. We get so busy, heads down, that we lose sight of how it is we want to live. Im so gla...
