On The Sunny Side Of The Street: May 2010
http://theslowiks.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 21, 2010. Please help out any way you can. Author: Trista and Chris. My brother, Brent Slowik, had a mental illness called Paranoid Schizophrenia - "one of several types of schizophrenia, a chronic mental illness in which reality is interpreted abnormally. The classic features of paranoid schizophrenia are having beliefs that have no basis in reality and hearing things that aren't real.". Unfortunately in my brother's case this disease took his life by suicide. Thanks so much for your time.

Johnson-and-Johnsons: A beautiful mind...or is it?
http://johnson-and-johnsons.blogspot.com/2013/09/a-beautiful-mindor-is-it.html
Thursday, September 19, 2013. A beautiful mind.or is it? I should be in bed. I went to bed, I rested my head on my pillow and then it began. I’m not sure what image you have when you think of someone who is depressed. Maybe someone who sleeps a lot? Maybe someone who is really quiet? I work, I run errands, I play with my kids, I tend to my husband, but in the quiet moments, I fall apart. I start to wring out the sponge of “truths” and mentally beat myself up for being such an amazing loser. If you have a...

DJ wasn't planning on playing this game, but he agreed to show Noah how to do it. Noah has been using his art scissors to trim these trees. Not a bad job! Max didn't mind hanging out with the Easter Bunny. These made great Easter baskets for collecting the eggs! The hunt was divided up into ages. Tom helped the little guys collect eggs. He got to se...

My Uber family: Hair today, gone tomorrow
http://myuberfamily.blogspot.com/2013/05/hair-today-gone-tomorrow.html
Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Hair today, gone tomorrow. Instead I will be trying other methods of covering my head, hats, scarves, etc. If anybody knows of great ways to cover ones head please share. On another note I have my second dose of chemo this Thursday. The first dose was pretty terrible but I think that it could have been worse. Continued prayers for little to no side effects would be wonderful. You are loved and always in our prayers! May 22, 2013 at 6:16 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

My Uber family: Busy week
http://myuberfamily.blogspot.com/2013/04/busy-week.html
Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Here is a picture of a port-a-cath). I am scheduled Thursday to receive my first dose of chemo. I'm not really sure what to expect as some people have almost no side effects and some people have debilitating side effects. (Prayer for little to no side effects would be great! On another note I wanted to post a song that I just love. No matter what I go through in life this song is so relevant. This is my prayer in the desert. When all that's within me feels dry. I will bring praise.

Rootsystems: September 2008
http://rootsystems.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Pictures and stories of my experiences in the Great Northwest. Monday, September 01, 2008. Here are a few pictures from our backpacking trip in Central Oregon. The participants were Eric, Jason, Mike, and myself. Here is the sunrise view of Three Fingered Jack from Marion Lake. Much of our hiking was through burned-out forest. Oddly beautiful. We conquered two steep climbs on day 2, as we hiked from Marion Lake to Carl Lake. Jason ponders the meaning of life while sitting by the fire.
