What is Sporting Art? The Paul Mellon Library. Originally comprising just two volumes donated in 1977, the Trusts library has increased to over 2,000 volumes, several four-storey filing cabinets of transparencies, archive material, catalogues and magazines. The Paul Mellon Library is housed in the Vestey Gallery in Newmarket. It is named after one of our most generous benefactors and renowned collector of sporting art, the late Paul Mellon KBE.
