Could you imagine us with a hammer and hundred of iron letters on our writing desks and large slabs of stone? Ah, suddenly… thinking of paper makes me feel I’ve lost a gazillion pounds and Shakespeare is whispering sonnets in my ear. Thank you paper, I love you! Continue Reading →. Final Winchell Laser Cut | WNYBAC Wood Type
https://typeproject.wordpress.com/2009/12/05/final-winchell-laser-cut
Adventures in Wood Type Creation! Final Winchell Laser Cut. Today was the last day of cutting letterforms for the Winchell font with the laser cutter. Just Plane Right | WNYBAC Wood Type
https://typeproject.wordpress.com/2009/12/03/just-plane-right
Adventures in Wood Type Creation! After planing the 4″ wide board, we ripped it down the center with the table saw, giving us two strips of just over 7′ that were close to 2″ wide. Adventures in Wood Type Creation! What I Learned at Wayzgoose. I promised a more detailed run-down of the Wayzgoose, and here it is:. The person I was most excited to meet was Nick Sherman. A skate rat, typographer, artist, and tireless wood type advocate who worked painstakingly to produce the Intercut Wood Typeface. Check out his outrageously thorough and ambitious site woodtyper.com.
