Soupus Dei: Wedding Cake
http://soupusdei.blogspot.com/2011/04/wedding-cake.html
Wednesday, 13 April 2011. I wrote this post about a year and a half ago, and didn’t post it because I’m rubbish. Here, at last, is the wedding cake, my most ambitious cooking project ever! My friend Ellie got married a few. Before I start, I should say that I simply couldn't have done this if it hadn't been for the internet, and one blog in particular - Smitten Kitchen's fabulous wedding cake blog. Which I used for the chocolate cake, vanilla cake, and the chocolate ganache. 4 oz plain flour. 1 rounded t...

Bon Appétit: Camping made Easy
http://direbonappetit.blogspot.com/2015/07/camping-made-easy.html
Friday, 17 July 2015. You'll notice from the content of this post that is it completely unfood related! I make no bones about this: I'm also a busy mum with a little one which is why the food bits don't get updated as regularly as I'd like and there are other things I'd also like to write about from time to time. Maybe a different blog format might work going forward, but for time time being, if you don't want to read about potties, look away now! Which retails at £20. The only problem camping with it, i...

Bon Appétit: November 2014
http://direbonappetit.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Friday, 7 November 2014. 1: Catherine Atkinson and Jenni Fleetwood - Slow Cooker, One-pot and Casserole – Cooking the Books. Baked Field Mushroom with Hazelnuts. Pumpkin and Banana Cake. One of my two slow cooker / one pot books. This book also includes tips for using the cooker in different ways and so, after reading these, it was with a little trepidation that I chose to use the pumpkin in a slow-cooked cake. Starter: Baked Field Mushroom with Hazelnuts. I used pecans as I had. Garlic mushrooms are alw...

http://direbonappetit.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 29 October 2014. Cooking the Books – an introduction. Well, I haven’t actually tried that one yet. Cook a starter, main and dessert from each of my 36 books, that’s 108 recipes;. Begin with the ones I’ve never cooked from;. Include Heston (even though it’s not technically. Complete the challenge within the year (52 weeks – 4 for holidays = 48 weeks. That’s 2.25 a week! I’d like to focus more on the end results, tastes and learning (! Both on Facebook but especially on the blog. I picked up one...

Food, football and figures: January 2010
http://foodfootballandfigures.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Food, football and figures. A BLOG ABOUT EATING OUT, COOKING AT HOME AND OCCASIONALLY GOING TO CHELSEA GAMES. Monday, 4 January 2010. While doing the Christmas baking I ended up with spare pastry and frangipane. Normally at this time of year I would make mini mincemeat tarts, but I had run out of mincemeat too, and given the snowy weather I didn. 8217;t fancy going out to get any. I therefore decided to put jam in the instead, thereby turning them into Bakewell. These were so good that R wouldn. Rio Braz...

Deerey me!: days of sunshine
http://deereyme.blogspot.com/2013/05/days-of-sunshine.html
Monday, 6 May 2013. Look, I'm sorry.there have just been too many months of grey dreariness for me not to go out with my camera now the land is drenched in golden sunlight. I can already hear the murmurs of "not more gardens", but you'll be glad of it when it rains from June to October! I know am a bit obsessed with our cherry blossom and the primroses that pop up in the lawn alongside the violets.but that's just the way it is. Max seems to be somewhat in love with the garden just now too. There simply c...

Deerey me!: December 2012
http://deereyme.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, 29 December 2012. Nothing to report on crafting or cooking - I have had a week off and been very lazy. Mark and I did walk in to Bath yesterday and popped in to Fabric Mills. On Christmas morning Mark and I had coffee and panettone and opened our presents before heading over to Mark's parents' house, the other side of Bath. Amongst many very nice things, I was given a lovely pair of earrings from Skånekraft. Rio enjoys posh Swedish gift wrapping. Elias sitting in the 'circle'. Little Elise set ...
