Just a spot to write about some of my scouting camping adventures along with some family adventures. Sunday, August 14, 2011. This year for High Adventure we went to Blanding, Utah and did some canyoneering, and explored some Indian Cliff Dwellings/Ruins. We experienced torrential downpours while at camp, and while driving, but didn't have much problem with the rains while we did our activities! This trip was awesome! It was one of the best High Adventures I have ever been on (and I've been on 10 of them!

Ok, so I can hardly call it a "campout" if we slept in Yurts, but there wasn't hardly any snow so we couldn't do our regular Snow Cave Campout this year. I don't count the night as a camping night either if they're sleeping in a Yurt. But it was a fun outing! We went through 6 packs of refrigerator biscuits! Posted by Jason Wendel. On the hike back down we realized that one of our boys had done everything for his hiking merit badge except for one 10 mile hike (he'd already done a 20 mile in one day hike, and four 10 mile in one day hikes), so we asked if he would like to hike back to camp and he did! So he and a couple of us leaders hiked down to the campground and finished his 10 miles! Living off the land.

So we got camp setup, and had dinner, then we drove to the trailhead and hiked the 2 miles to the springs in the evening. We got there around 8pm, and pretty much had the place to ourselves till around 9:30 when the night life co'ed's started coming.
