Friday, April 29, 2005. The news is that I'll be attending an induction program from next week for three weeks. It feels a bit weird to be inducted into the company after working here for a month. Anyways, it's good to know that I'll not be required to work for the next few weeks. Posted by Jammy at 8:09 am. Links to this post. Thursday, April 28, 2005. Countries like France, Italy and Spain have abolished human execution. There is a rumour that homicides are comparatively less in these countries tha...

Sunday, January 30, 2005. The Goal * * * R a m a n u j a m * *. The wait is about to end. Once more I stare at the bend. The way ahead is new. Fresh tracks to take, I see thru the dew. Looking back at the road that's about to end. I ask myself, "Is this what I intend? Struggle, pain, and raw grit. Few things I used to reach the summit. Are they worth the sequel? Yes, I'm achieving my goal. To put-on the new role. Taking pain for more pain is my plight. I've been fighting only for more fight. Overall it w...

Tuesday, June 28, 2005. Rejoicing in the Rains. It is raining cats and dogs", I said. My friend replied, "The rain God is just having a pre-match warm-up. You are yet to see him play his smashes". If what I am experiencing in Mumbai is a warm-up, then the future looks too cold. Rains always bring a smile in the face of the traditional Chennai-ite. No wonder my face had a light grin when I saw the first rains in Mumbai few weeks back. But the grin might not last long. Simple reasons -. Links to this post.

Saturday, February 26, 2005. The only news is that I've to join work in the first week of April. The date has been confirmed and the flight ticket would be sent by the company soon. I'll be one of the first guys of my college-mates to join. With most people expected to join only in May/June, I guess one can say that I will be richer by a month's experience first-up! Oh, did I miss the money part? Posted by Jammy at 6:57 am. Links to this post. Wednesday, February 23, 2005. Posted by Jammy at 7:54 am.

Kaleidoscope: September 2005

Thursday, September 29, 2005. Shyam was wondering on what to do. He was about to leave the city for good and may never meet some of his friends/ colleagues again. He wished to meet all of them one final time before bidding adieu. Coincidentally his birthday was also falling on that final weekend. "Why not organize a party? As a true MBA, Shyam went on with a market study to determine the customer's perceptions. Prospect 1: "You don't call it a party if it doesn't have booze". P3: "Outside the city? There...

But just in case, we need something to kindle all those memories, we have our wonderful yearbook. The yearbook team has done a fabulous job with the design and contents. But still, I have one personal reservation with the book. The poem that I wrote especially for the yearbook has been missed out. As our IIMI chapter is closing pretty fast. And the marke...

Kaleidoscope: August 2005

Monday, August 29, 2005. Frankly, I'm not sure. I see some amount of intellectual work coming to India like the R&D labs of IT firms and the equity analysis work of investment banks. But the bulk of the work that is coming to us is still on application maintenance. Leaving the issue of what is actually offshored, let us ponder over why different people claim different things. There should ofcourse be some primary motive for these people to be so different at looking at the same fact. Links to this post.

Kaleidoscope: July 2005
http://ramanuj.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 29, 2005. Every other TV channel that I viewed yesterday showed Mumbai's rains over and over again with an increasing count of the number of people deceased. But it is strange that I did not get to see any channel ask, "Where was our weather department? Couldn't they have forecasted something before the misery started? Or don't we have the technology? Even discussing this seems quite clichéd. When Chennai was hit by the Tsunami, I wrote on. The 5 forces are called "Panchabootham" in Tamil...
