Meatless Monday: Red Gold Tomatoes Lasagna Recipe and Giveaway. I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. After the first week of the new semester (which is always slightly chaotic and nerve-racking, even for those of us in front of the classroom! I was really looking forward to a weekend of fun. I spent Friday in a cooking/baking frenzy and then spent the rest of the weekend indulging in some much-needed girl time: a fabulous lunch at Fig and Olive. Monday, January 26, 2015. A fantastic dinner with Diana at a new-to-me restaurant. In Oak Park, and another round of the Chicago Food Swap. Monday, May 19, 2014.

Monthly Brunchgasm: The Southern. While the new Monthly Brunchgasm series was intended to run monthly (hence the name), in the midst of our initial excitement, we went a little crazy and went on a slew of bunch visits in a short period of time. For the sake of our series name, lets just pretend its already a new month, okay? Our brunch at Kanela Breakfast Club. Fell into our hands; as soon as we took a look at the menu, we knew it was perfect place for our next Brunchgasm! Monday, February 23, 2015.

Filigree Suppers: Victoria and America. Founded by Elise Metzger and Brita Olsen, Filigree Suppers. Mario and I were invited to join the most recent event in the traveling pop-up series held at West Town favorite The Winchester. I was excited to dig deeper into the specifics of the dining traditions of the time, as many of our modern food trends actually became popular during the era. Floral designs by Elizabeth Cronin of Asrai Garden. Inspired by Williams Morris' Strawberry Thief textile pattern. Founde...

Luella's Southern Kitchen - Sed Bona

Everyday Inspiration From A Chicago Photographer. April 30, 2015. Luella’s Southern Kitchen. Despite the fact that I’ve lived in Chicago since college, I’d never actually been to the quirky neighborhood of Lincoln Square until Starr. Invited me for a meal at the Louisiana comfort food mecca of Luella’s Southern Kitchen. The space is cozy and inviting with warm wood-panels lining the walls and a bright blue ceiling for a vibrant pop of color! Aren’t the clever fleur-de-lis table numbers fun? Starr and I s...

Being normal is not one of my strengths. Friday, February 17, 2012. Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies. I lie Don't judge, cause you do it too. Really. We all do it, ALL. The time. Don't try denying it cause then you'd be lying. When DH and I first starting dating we made a pact. When you ask the other person "are you lying? They must absolutely answer with the truth (so either yes or no). These interactions go something like this:. Me: Did you do x, y and z? Me: Are you lying? 1- I don't know.

My Hiding Place: The Tensions of Teacher Prep - the money version
http://museyme.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-tensions-of-teacher-prep-money.html
Monday, August 5, 2013. The Tensions of Teacher Prep - the money version. My sense is that state governments are interested in pouring money into private ventures (TFA, charters, online programs) rather than invest in teacher education programs at the state universities. Which is crazy because anyone who wants to be certified usually ends up going through a state school program (since they usually have a more expansive program). Any way to fundraise for these kinds of programs? August 6, 2013 at 6:11 AM.

Crazy? Certainly.: Action expresses priorities
http://crazycertainly.blogspot.com/2013/06/action-expresses-priorities.html
Being normal is not one of my strengths. Sunday, June 16, 2013. Clearly my inactivity on my blog (nothing since December) explains my priorities. I have to be honest, I can't really rate them in order of importance because I think there is a big mosh pit of priorities all at the top vying for the number one spot and I find that I just have to cycle through them as best as I can - talk about learning to juggle! Last year, shortly after I became pregnant I read an article in Newsweek. Yeah I said it).

My whole life revolves around food as I am always thinking about the next restaurant I want to try or return too!
