I'm also bemoaning the fact that all the "standards" for metadata - like DublinCore are not the driving force of Contentdm. Contentdm is about getting information to the user and simplifying the creation of a collection. This is the realization - that MARC and standards don't mean much to the user. Adventures in Library Science. Tuesday, July 7, 2009. I found out that most computers in student libraries have "deep freeze" (polar bear icon) - which doesn't allow anything to be saved. I suspected this- as some helpful websites that I bookmarked for today were gone. But Irv disabled Deep Freeze on the scanning computer and voila! Easy as pie to combine the files with Acrobat Adobe software which the college already has licensed. After all the Lehigh Valley isn't Berkley). Sounds like radical times....
