Bikes, Books, and Border Collies: two boys, two quilts, ten months apart...
http://bikesbooksbordercollies.blogspot.com/2013/12/two-boys-two-quilts-ten-months-apart.html
Thursday, December 5, 2013. Two boys, two quilts, ten months apart. Last night I was working on hand-sewing the binding on the quilt I'm finishing up for my nephew, and Martok decided to curl up against my hip and keep me company. He soon decided that wasn't close enough, and moved his head to rest against the quilt itself. There's a reason my quilt labels say "made with love and border collie fur" after all! I still need to post about our trip to Utah, and probably some of our fun November events - two ...

Bikes, Books, and Border Collies: cross-stitch and a growing puppy
http://bikesbooksbordercollies.blogspot.com/2013/09/cross-stitch-and-growing-puppy.html
Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Cross-stitch and a growing puppy. Chris got me an adorable little "My Little Demon" plushy dragonesque stuffed toy from a Kickstarter campaign, complete with "Danger" wrapping and a personalized Demonator certificate. Of course, I had to use the Danger wrapping appropriately on my young border collie puppy - they SHOULD come with "Danger" warnings after all! I'm super excited and can't wait to use it again for a tournament this weekend. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Bikes, Books, and Border Collies: January 2013
http://bikesbooksbordercollies.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 31, 2013. One year ago today. Photo credit Irene Cotter, Fur-Fetched Photography. Except when he's whining, of course. I'm going to make a point of posting at least once a week, as going for months at a time without posting is kind of a guilt trip on myself. Next post will be more cheerful, I hope - a look at some of my quilting, knitting, and spinning projects over the past year! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Jet City Jumpers Flyball Club. Bikes, Books, and Border Collies: February 2013
http://bikesbooksbordercollies.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 26, 2013. From four dogs down to three. With the advent of Phoebe's retirement and the impending arrival of our new border collie puppy, it was time to find Phoebe a new home where she could be loved and spoiled as an only dog for her retirement. I put Phoebe up with several rescue groups, including WA/OR JRT rescue. Phoebe with her 2011 Region 7 MVP plaque, her retirement plaque from JCJ, and her retirement blanket which reads "Phoebe - Always A Jet City Jumper.". Pictures of the trip ...

Bikes, Books, and Border Collies: April 2013
http://bikesbooksbordercollies.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 19, 2013. Back down the rollercoaster. I had planned my next blog post to be about spinning and knitting and some of the things I've been doing recently, but that all got knocked out the window last night. I found another lump on Curzon's ribcage. My brain doesn't always listen. This morning I'm feeling better, not thrilled of course but better. Who's to say that another rib tumor is that much worse than the internal tumor we already know is there? Monday, April 15, 2013. One of the things ...

Bikes, Books, and Border Collies: May 2013
http://bikesbooksbordercollies.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Bits and pieces, crafts and puppies. Today's post is a lot of photos, because I've done a lot of stuff recently and it's always more fun to post and write about photos than it is to just put together large blocks of text. Plus, I've done that way too much at work recently and I'm sick of it! So here we go, in themed order. Just this past weekend I cleaned up my sewing room and pulled out the materials to work on Aidan's quilt again. I have just one panel done so far, though a...

Bikes, Books, and Border Collies: November 2013
http://bikesbooksbordercollies.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 5, 2013. He's not an iron man, he's a tough mudder. First off, today is Tuesday November 5th, so that means it's election day for the USA. Please, go vote and take part in the democratic process! October was a very busy month for us, as might be noted from the lack of posts here on the blog. We had something going on nearly every weekend, including three flyball tournaments straight! All done, complete with his well-earned orange headband for finishing. Chris has already decided he'...

Bikes, Books, and Border Collies: October 2013
http://bikesbooksbordercollies.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 21, 2013. Ten years ago today. A litter of three black and white border collie puppies was born. At the time I had just started looking for a puppy to surprise Chris with, since Jadzia had turned out so bonded to me even though she was supposed to be his dog. Little did I know what I was about to find, and the amazing treasure I would decide to bring home. Monday, October 7, 2013. Martok did great in both Friday and Saturday night green dog work opportunities, although we just had him do ...

Natural Feeding
http://bordercollies.pawcific.com/NaturalFeeding.html
Started feeding a species appropriate raw natural diet in 1997. We wouldn't feed our dogs any other way. You can see a difference in their health, the shine of the their coat and their overall energy. A species appropriate diet has been coined BARF, bones and raw food or biologically appropriate raw food. It essentially means that what we feed our domesticated dogs mimics what their ancestors ate in the wild. All dogs are descendants of wolves and have the same digestive systems. You just have to do it.
