Finished and nearly finished knits - Considering Home

http://consideringhome.weebly.com/home/finished-and-nearly-finished-knits

Food for the Body. Finished and nearly finished knits. In a little over a week I made this striped blanket for the baby. It was inspired by the Purl Bee baby blanket. Here are a couple of sweaters I am nearly finished with. I just need to block them and put buttons on one. The pink, gray, and white is the Baby Vertebrae. Since finishing Tess of the Durbervilles I haven't really found a book I could get into. Plus I was obsessed with getting that blanket done! Just this week I started reading The Big Tiny...

Food for the Body. Today I turned 36 and all I can think of is, "wow, how can it be that I am closer to 40 than 30? How did I get so "old? And then, there's this thing I do on every birthday- not on purpose- it just always comes into my mind. I think about my mom at my age. She had a 17 year old daughter when she was 36. And I'm not sure if that makes me feel older or younger? Well, I'm having a baby in a few months so that automatically makes me younger, right? Enter your email address:.

How Do I…. Do Family Devotions? January 22, 2015. There are innumerable ways to conduct the worship and learning of the ways of The Lord with your family. And it’s one of most important things you can do with your family at home… Remember, Christians, this world is not our home! We are merely passing through for a short time and our citizenship lies in heaven. So, without further ado, what do we do in what is often referred to as family devotions? Here’s what I use as helps:. We are nuts is about YWAM&#8...

Wedding on a Whim: written July 8th, 2010. Yes, that IS me and my hubby. And, yes I have had every hair color known to man- cute, huh? Hubby and I have never done anything in a what-would-you-call-it, conventional way. Our entire one year dating career was rocky and lavish, our engagement in NYC, a city we frequented at the time. We planned to be married in June and move to NYC where hubby would commute out to his client in New Jersey for work, rather than his weekly commute from ATL to NJ. So everyone s...

Entering Into Deeper Suffering. February 9, 2015. There is constantly a lump in my throat, and tears brimming behind my eyes as I enter this suffering I have been assigned. I really don’t know why. In some ways, I am very tough, tough as nails. But this last trimester suffering, these two last pregnancies is so intense, I find myself wondering how I will make it another eight or nine weeks. You know, people love to ask (or judge), well why have you had so many so close? What you are doing in raising your...

Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Today it is suddenly clear to me that living well is a skill that can only really be learned by doing, just like any other physical or mental skill. I would never expect to learn how to tango, or weld, or write a speech just from reading a book (much less an article on the internet). I know that learning these skills takes practice, in order to learn all the parts that cannot be put into words and to commit the necessary reflexes and instincts to memory. And then a crack app...
