A blog about pirates of today and pirates of yesterday. Friday, June 19, 2009. Interpol involvement bolsters prosecution of pirates. With the monsoon season limiting the number of pirate attacks off Somalia, the fight against piracy has entered a new phase. Interpol, the international police organization, is starting to collect finger prints of suspected pirates, photographs, even DNA samples in an effort to collect hard evidence for pirate prosecutions. http://www.rishidesai.com/blog-title-explanation
I've Desaided to join the Foreign Service. A blog about joining the Foreign Service. I remember when I used a similar title for my Peace Corps blog, some folks figured I was just bad at spelling and thought that “decided” was spelled “desaided”. My last name is Desai, hence the portmanteau – desaided. One thought on “ Blog title explanation. November 27, 2012 at 12:55 pm. Http:/ www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/babyISWYDT.gif. I've Desaided to join the Foreign Service. A blog about joining the Foreign Service. An affinity for chrome horses and siamese cats. In my last post, I posed three questions that a Foreign Service applicant might ask herself when first considering a career at DoS: “What is it? 8221;, “Do I want to do this? 8221;, and “Am I qualified? 8221; I addressed the third question in the last post, today I’ll try to answer the second: why join the Foreign Service? Like cross-cultural meme mash-ups! My personal moti...

Let’s start at the very beginning. A very good place to start. | I've Desaided to join the Foreign Service
http://www.rishidesai.com/hello-world
I've Desaided to join the Foreign Service. A blog about joining the Foreign Service. Let’s start at the very beginning. A very good place to start. The first time I took the Foreign Service Written Exam was on Election Day in 2008. I joked that Barack Obama and I were both going to get our dream job on the same day. I was wrong. In the coming days, I’ll go back and write a bit more about the application process, my personal background, hiccups in my candidacy, and the like. Hopefully future pos...4 thoug...

March | 2013 | I've Desaided to join the Foreign Service
http://www.rishidesai.com/2013/03
I've Desaided to join the Foreign Service. A blog about joining the Foreign Service. Monthly Archives: March 2013. Last I posted, I had yet to leave for A-100. Three months later, here I am! The reason for the hiatus is that there are many rules and regulations associated with what I can post online about my new career. While we found out early on that many regulations existed, I decided to wait until I had a good grasp of our policies before continuing this venture. I’ve been doing a bit of resear...

Fred Fry International: Jim Rogers - Central planners' policies are punishing the prudent in favor of rescuing the irresponsible
http://fredfryinternational.blogspot.com/2013/03/jim-rogers-central-planners-policies.html
Citizen Journalist and Observer of Human Nature. Monday, March 11. Jim Rogers - Central planners' policies are punishing the prudent in favor of rescuing the irresponsible. I read the following by financial commentator Jim Rogers. And it really fits with what I think has been happening for the last couple of years:. This has happened before in world history, and the aftermath has always had grievous economic, social - and often human - costs:. Don't get me wrong, some people do legitimately deserve assis...

Fred Fry International: Real Health Care Insurance Reform (and it does not take 1,000+ Pages!)
http://fredfryinternational.blogspot.com/2009/08/real-health-care-insurance-reform-and.html
Citizen Journalist and Observer of Human Nature. Wednesday, August 12. Real Health Care Insurance Reform (and it does not take 1,000 Pages! The whole Health Care debate in Washington is making me sick. Really, out of the whole Congress, all they have managed to do is come up with ideas to really screw up the system for good. Like many other people I think the Democrats are planning to wreck the health care system so that they can force a Government-run single-payer system. See CNN's article '. In short, ...
