Under A Prairie Sky...: March 2011
http://calicozie.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Under A Prairie Sky. Thursday, March 31, 2011. As people who have hearts that long for perfect love, we have to forgive one another for not being able to give or receive that perfect love in our everyday lives. Our many needs constantly interfere with our desire to be there for the other unconditionally. Our love is always limited by spoken or unspoken conditions. What needs to be forgiven? We need to forgive one another for not being God! Wednesday, March 30, 2011. Nice to see God's Mysterious Ways expl...
Under A Prairie Sky...: June 2012
http://calicozie.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Under A Prairie Sky. Sunday, June 3, 2012. He'd stopped dealing with garbage in the months before he died. And what can anyone do in a situation like this, except bring food and boxes, hold babies, help clean? She didn't look, and she's so glad that her professional mental-health training kept her from looking. Who needs that picture forever? I didn't talk much about this at the time. I didn't realize when I first posted this picture that I needed to talk about it now. Acupuncture because it's a window i...

http://calicozie.blogspot.com/2014/03/confessions-of-massage-therapist-i-have.html
Under A Prairie Sky. Monday, March 24, 2014. Confessions of a massage therapist:. I have a client, a lovely lady. I have more than one client but I'm talking about this one today. She has this GREAT BIG HUGE ENORMOUS ANCIENT BLACKHEAD on her back. Every time I see it I'm driven almost frantic by the desire to extirpate it, by force or by instrument, whatever it takes. I fear that someday I'll lose all self-control and grab it by the throat and squeeze. It's been hours since she left and I'm still fraught.
Under A Prairie Sky...: July 2012
http://calicozie.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Under A Prairie Sky. Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Ain't easy, bein' mortal. I've got several patients dealing with cancer right now, of various types in various stages. Lung, breast, prostate, bone. It's an education. I'm learning about standard western treatment protocols, and alternative treatment options. And I'm learning a lot about people and our capacity to deal with illness and the possibility of death in the real rather than the theoretical. Any of it. There's lots of time, right? Those freaking sup...
Under A Prairie Sky...: December 2013
http://calicozie.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Under A Prairie Sky. Sunday, December 22, 2013. And may I say, first of all, that I'm far from enchanted with Blogger's new publishing format. I rarely come here anymore. Maybe I have no right to complain, but for the love of the crows! Do I want to alert someone on Google so they'll notice me? I do not. Please don't ask me again. You must be pretty goddamn lazy," he told me. I was astonished. Usually they wait until at least the second date, you know? You can't be bothered to whip your own goddamn cream?
Under A Prairie Sky...: The Bigger Picture
http://calicozie.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-bigger.html
Under A Prairie Sky. Tuesday, August 21, 2012. As the kids got older, they resisted more and more having their pictures taken. And they certainly don't want them on a blog. But tonight I wish I could take a picture. I'm pretty proud. Mostly because they're my kids. But particularly tonight because now they're both working "real" jobs. With gusto. And that's a beautiful thing at 14 and 15. I guess we didn't screw them up irreparably. Did I mention that I'm feeling pretty proud? August 22, 2012 at 2:46 PM.

Under A Prairie Sky...: Just Back Up The Truck
http://calicozie.blogspot.com/2012/08/just-back-up-truck.html
Under A Prairie Sky. Friday, August 3, 2012. Just Back Up The Truck. I've decided that what I really want in life is everything. I'm not settling down. It's just not happening. Yes, I'm tired, but I'm more tired when I just stop. I want some of EVERYTHING. Forget choosing one or the other. I choose it all. If you're shaoyang, just be. Shaoyang. Everyone else should be what they are too. But I need to choose to be what I actually am. Whew Glad I got that sorted around. August 3, 2012 at 11:41 AM. The only...

Shuffling Books | A Library Journey
A year in library school. December 12, 2014. Well I made it through my first year. Two semesters! That is with a full time job.I could not have done it without my smartphone Google Docs and going without much sleep. I love that I can listen to mp3 lectures while I’m driving to physical therapy or I can watch a classwhile doing exercises cooking breakfast or fixing my hair for work. Right now, I’m writing this by speaking into my phone. Technology is wonderful! Posted by Leslie Fox. January 17, 2014.

the Contrary Goddess
Life on the farm. Sunday, March 04, 2018. I like to think of hope as a fact," she said. I was listening to the radio. This was a promo for some show I'd never hear, a singer-songwriter writing whiny songs. That she felt were hopeful. "I like to think of hope as a fact, because no matter what you are going through, you do get through it.". But hope when the coltsfoot blooms, that is a fact. What looks like a dandelion on top of an asparagus stalk? After coltsfoot it will all come hard and fast. The se...

Still Life on the Farm. Drawn (& quartered) from life. April 1, 2017. Posted by CG under life. The shades of grey and brown that define the winter mountains, along with the green so dark it is almost black, are broken now with the purple of the redbuds and the occasional white of a pear. Fashion, culture and the news from a demure, feminine point of view. Sunday, December 2, 2012. If you could alert me to racism in a sexist way, that would be fantastic! Examine thyself, fuckers. Posted by Erin Contrary. Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Slutty Halloween Costume of the Day: Mangina Edition. Something tells me this is as close to getting inside of a vagina as this guy has ever been. Absent landlord for an empty house of a blog. Tuesday, March 06, 2012. Why 'Gold Rush' keeps me up at night. It's 5:40am, and I'm typing into the old blog. Not because of my shitty IT job, which got me up before 5, or because something important is happening elsewhere in the world. No, I'm typing here and now because the Discovery Channel series 'Gold Rush' bugs me. I'm not a PowerPoint kinda guy, but here are the bullet points:. No exploration was done. The kid with the giant nose has to drive to town t...
