So you think you can cook? Seven girls and our kitchen exploits. Thursday, January 19, 2012. Here is a new fav of mine. I made this for Calvin's Blessing. I took a risk because i had never made it before and I had no idea what to expect BUT. . . it was a HIT meaning super delicious and I got lots of people asking for the recipe so i thought I'd share with you! I found two recipes that looked good and used a combination of both and added a few of my own ingredients. Enjoy. 1 small onion, chopped. So for w...

So you think you can cook?: Cookie+ice cream=delish!

http://cookiebakeoff.blogspot.com/2012/02/cookieice-creamdelish.html

So you think you can cook? Seven girls and our kitchen exploits. Wednesday, February 1, 2012. The other day I made this batch. Of chocolate chip cookies. So soft even days after. Pretty sure it is because of the pudding involved. I only made 2 pans worth but that left me with LOTS of left over cookie dough. And when is that EVER a bad thing? I rolled up rest into a log, wrapped in plastic, and stored for later consumption. Later" happened to be 6 hours later. And that was a very sad day.

So you think you can cook? Seven girls and our kitchen exploits. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread. This is mine and Daniel's Favorite type of bread especially during this time of year. Daniel loves it even more with a glass of egg nog. It makes alot so we met our new neighbors with it, met our neighbors that have lived here for awhile and went hometeaching and we still had about 1 and 1/2 loaves left. 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon. White Beans and Br...

cookiebake | Cookie baking at its finest. Talk is cheap. A terrific cookie is priceless.

This was a Christmas holiday favorite and easy. Let the eggs sit at room temperature before whipping them. I used peppermint extract but you can add other flavoring. I also painted the inside of a pastry bag with red and green food color stripes, one color on different sides of the bag interior. Use color paste, not liquid food color. The colors came out great. 3 egg whites, whip to frothy with 1/8 tsp kosher salt. Add 1/2 cup granulated sugar and whip to stiff peaks. I used the Wilton #. Roll logs in gr...

Sunday, January 5, 2014. Traveling with high maintenance eating. I recently got back from a 2 week vacation to Maui. The adjustment has been a little rough. We drove to the airport in 85 degree weather and landed at SeaTac in 45 degree clouds. Ugh. To console myself, I spend an inordinant amount of time scrolling through the pictures on my phone, remembering the sights, sounds, and smells of Maui. Aaaaah. What better way to hang onto a piece of the vacation? OK, here we got. As I menu planned, I kept run...
