You may recall that the cranky sportsman, having decided on a breeder, a breed (golden retriever), and a litter was now ready to choose a puppy. He had never asked me about these things and never had me fill out any forms about this. Apparently he could tell all this by watching me walk into his kitchen. Now that is what I call an expert. Cleo is a golden retriever from AKC Breeder of Merit, Top Brass Retrievers. And is definitely the finest hunting dog you will read about today. At 9 years old, however, she’s slowing down to the point where she will have trouble with those simple mile and a half retrieves this year. Cleo, the Not-So-Cranky Sportsdog. Or a pointing flusher? Or a flushing pointer?
