Happy 2nd Birthday Emma! Posted on September 22, 2013. Around this time 2 years ago, I started having contractions and Emma was about to make her way into our lives and our hearts. To say I am a little emotional is an understatement. I have spent today walking around with a lump in my throat, my heart bursting. Posted on October 14, 2013. Every time I open a bag of chips, I remember the words. It was Friday afternoon in the first year of my “real” job as a programmer. I stood with my colleagues and opened a bag of chips at the table to pass around. The facilities lady came up to me with a bowl and said to me -. 8220;Please use a bowl, you’re lowering standards”. Like many things during my first working year after college graduation, it crushed me and filled me with shame. Leave a Comment Cancel reply.

I know what my passport and documents say I am but that’s just a legal definition. Where does this leave me though? Now I live in America. I am definitely not American. My “otherness” follows me here and is a little worse because I feel culturally out of place sometimes. Perhaps this will change ...However, as old and j...

Posted on August 21, 2013. Someone tell me I’m not the only one that breathes a sigh of relief when both babies take gigantic poops BEFORE we have to hop on long haul flights? This means, we should be having a poop-free commute. The Smiths are off to Fiji to attend a wedding and get some R&R. Once we actually survive the 11 hour flight there, I’m sure it will be fantastic!
