There is serious color during the fall in northern New Mexico, and we even talked some friends into joining us. Not only are the trees glowing. But so are the skies:. This is an area in northern Oklahoma where salt water was once and the salt is all that's left. The area also has a lake which is a huge stop-over for migrating birds and they are totally plentiful. They are very skittish as the farmers are want to scare them away as much as possible. But they are also tenacious and are just as fond of finding another field and another and another.

These really are exotic birds (to me) and they are notorious for flying around - a lot. They do not like to sit still. They loved liting on our plum tree (which we are guarding like Ft.
