Howland Homestead Farm: 1949 VAC Inspection
http://blog.howlandhomesteadfarm.com/2012/03/1949-vac-inspection.html
Phil and Dianne Lang, 175 Geer Mountain Road, South Kent, CT 06785. Thursday, March 1, 2012. I've been trying to decide if it is worth putting the money into restoring our '49 Case VAC. I rebuilt the carburetor, and it runs but needs all new tires, and must be split to install seals. I've decided to go ahead based on a good compression test and after learning that splitting the tractor shouldn't bee that hard. Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures of it in action before too long! Today"s date and time.

We then, in early 1994, bought the cow we had previously looked at in NH. All of the other Randalls that had gone to several owners for conservation (except those now with Cynthia Creech. In Tennessee), had been lost. In the summer of 1994 we travelled to Cynthia's Artemis Farm. In Jefferson City, TN, to look at her girls, and bought 2 heifers from her later that year. We were on our way. Over the years, Phil has milked 26 Randall cows. Most of the veal and beef we sell is from the Randalls. Minnie, Kerr...

On Farm Meat Sales. A Century Family Farm est. 1909. Mulefoot Pigs are a hardy breed with docile personalities. We chose this breed because of the flavor and texture of the meat they produce, it is distinctly different from commercially raised pork. Mulefoot pigs are considered a critically rare breed and we are trying to do our part in conservation of the Mulefoot by promoting the breed. We are actively involved in the new American Mulefoot Breeders Association check it out at their new. We are building...

Seeking someone to come forward and re-rescue the Randalls. That someone was Cynthia Creech. Meanwhile, back in New England, the smaller groups of animals that had been sold from the Randall farm were disappearing. When my wife Dianne and I became involved in 1993, we located and bought all of the breeding Randalls left outside of Cynthia's herd, by then just three animals.
