Wednesday, December 3, 2008. The new heliport is now in place on the northeast corner of the hospital, and concrete has been poured for the four-level 110,000 square foot addition to Douglas County Hospital. Total cost of the project will be approximately 31 million. The project will be financed with 26.2 million in tax-exempt revenue bonds and 4.8 million in hospital cash reserves. Douglas County Hospital receives no local or county tax subsidy. The new heliport is now in place on the northeast.

Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Concrete has been poured. Concrete has been poured on the new roof and on the 3rd floor. Window frames will be installed in a few weeks. The pouring of concrete has been poured at the new main entrance. Currently there are 35-60 construction workers on site at Douglas County Hospital every day. This includes contractors for the following specialties: carpenters, sheet rockers, iron, concrete, roofing, electrical, plumbing, sheet metal, dirt, brick and a project manager.

Wednesday, February 18, 2009. The Main Entrance/Lobby of Douglas County Hospital is demo’d inside and the entire building will come down in March. The red iron is going up from 1st floor to the roof and is heading south with structure.
