A Different Perspective *. Follow our lives abroad from Bangladesh to El Salvador. Monday, January 23, 2012. Our last stop before returning to Delhi was to see the Taj Mahal. I felt like I couldn't go to India without seeing one of the wonders of the world - and I wasn't disappointed! The entrance to the Taj Mahal. Japanese. They all had some seriously impressive equipment - HUGE lenses and various accessories attached. We saw dozens of tourists holding their hands up while a photo was taken to make it l...

A Different Perspective *. Follow our lives abroad from Bangladesh to El Salvador. Friday, December 27, 2013. Baby Sea Turtle Release. On a Saturday morning, we drove about an hour and a half to Playa el Pimental to see and release baby turtles into the Pacific Ocean. There's a wonderful organization for the conservation of turtles in El Salvador, FUNZEL. Another interesting fact is that the female turtles that live to maturity end up nesting on the same beach where they hatched. Links to this post.

A Different Perspective *. Follow our lives abroad from Bangladesh to El Salvador. Friday, January 3, 2014. Isla Estrella, San Blas, Panamá. We camped in a tent on the island where a few Kunas, the indigenous people of San Blas, lived in a small hut. They cooked every meal for us - delicious whole fried snapper, spiny lobster, conch, fried snapper, tuna, octopus, and more fried snapper straight from the water around the island. Local fisherman have no problem catching an abundant and diverse amount of ma...

A Different Perspective *. Follow our lives abroad from Bangladesh to El Salvador. Tuesday, February 14, 2012. We celebrated by going to one of the fanciest restaurants in Dhaka - it definitely didn't feel like we were in Dhaka anymore! This evening I went for a walk in the park behind our apartment building and had some fun conversations with the locals. Whenever I go to this park, there are always people taking photos of me with their phones. Actually, whenever I go anywhere. Some more flower photos&#4...

Neko and Panda's. May 21, 2014. As an expat spouse, it is easier to attend online training programs than brick-and-mortar ones. I’m a bit of a brick-and-mortar snob, mostly because of my past experience working in one. Some kinds of learning are just not well done in the online classroom. However, that’s not the case with the TeacherReady online teacher certification program. Like all teacher certification programs, TeacherReady ( www.teacherready.org. Staying Happy at Post. Neko and Panda's. 8230;birthday party lessons. September 21, 2013. We have been to our first kid birthday parties this month (all the cool people are born in September, don’tcha know? And I’ve learned a few lessons regarding hosting and attending them. 1 Don’t take two kids if you are a solo parent and one of them really needs a nap. No matter how optimistic you are, that’s not going to go well. 6 If you think you should invite a huge crowd because you expect few of them to show, they will all show.

Neko and Panda's. November 13, 2013. Among the FS blogger types, it’s pretty traditional to post a pic of your next post’s flag as the announcement of where you’ll be. So, here we are:. Neko and Panda's. 8230;Harvest time at the farm. October 18, 2013. The day started at Tae Shin Agroland farm, a tourist farm sponsored by a corporate cattle company. 8221; She then visited the little calf and got massively licked. The best part of all was a bird house full of finches that were very tame and landed on you as you walked through. They also pecked at your shoes and clothes looking for food. Most of the other kids and adults were a bit unnerved by this, but Neko loved it. Used to be in Dhaka.

Neko and Panda's. January 9, 2014. Unlike many of our fellow FS famillies, we made it through the holidays with little to no incidents of sickness. Just one little overindulgence in fizzy New Year’s juice on Neko’s part. A Bikle (aka bicycle), a rather odd-looking monster doll, and Duplo blocks. She also has really enjoyed all the new books and clothes. Panda, on the other hand, has been thrilled with the (hunting dog) bell. Staying Happy at Post →. One thought on “ …holidays 2013. Neko and Panda's. September 27, 2013. Autumn in Seoul is lovely. It’s the crispness of a New England fall with the clearness of an Arizona sky and the wonderful things to do of any big, developed world city. Supposedly it will only last a few weeks and then winter will be upon us again, but I am enjoying it while I can. Tomorrow, Neko and I are headed to a farm to meet some animals and taste the fresh autumn fruit, hopefully there will be pics! 8230;birthday party lessons. September 30, 2013 at 10:49 pm.

https://adventuresin.wordpress.com/2014/05/12/staying-happy-at-post

Neko and Panda's. Staying Happy at Post. May 12, 2014. By marrying into the Foreign Service, I had to take a 90 degree turn on my career goals and sense of who I was as an individual. I couldn’t really. Like many diplo spouses, taking that turn left me feeling somewhat bereft. Who was I? What was the point? So I spend a lot of my time planning. Sometimes you have to make use of your plans, of course, so we occasionally take trips or organize things. I also keep myself happy by working. My job is rela...

A Different Perspective

Tuesday, June 21, 2011. John McCain recently made news when he broke with fellow Republicans regarding America’s place in the world. For a hundred years there has been a good bit of residual isolationism within the Republican Party and it has recently reared its ugly head again. McCain publicly disputed that concept and clearly stated that isolationism had no place in America’s foreign policy. Isolationism will never be to the benefit of our nation. Lyndon G. Furst.
