The obvious question here is to ask why these companies identify specific users as soccer moms. Lets explore some possible reasons why a data company would place a user in that segment:. For those starting off, or for non-industry folk that strolled along, below are some common terms and acronyms used. I will add to this continually. RTB - "Real-Time Bidding". Essentially, a real-time auction for an impression. SSP - "Supply-Side Platform". And the Rubicon Project. Are the big 4 SSPs in the market today. Like a consumer auction site like eBay, a Second Price Auction is an auction where the winner pays not what their maximum bid was, but just above the second highest price.
