DAWE (and variants) Surname DNA Project Blog: Have a great 2014
http://dawedna.blogspot.com/2014/01/have-great-2014.html
DAWE (and variants) Surname DNA Project Blog. Anyone interested in DAW(E) surname dna tests is welcome to contribute. Friday, January 3, 2014. Have a great 2014. No, the lack of posts doesn't indicate a lack of activity, far from it. Just no time to update the diary. Remember to keep an eye on the general DNA notices on the DNA Surnames diary. A lot of my time these days goes onto exploring autosomal matches (FamilyTree DNA's FamilyFinder test, or 23andme or ancestry's autosomal test). Have a great 2014.

Lorna's Research Diary - what changed, when, sometimes why. Thursday, 15 January 2015. Needle in haystack found. For many years a family story that Margaret HENDERSON and Robert SMITH's family also included a daughter who died as an infant on the voyage to NZ, sat in the too hard basket. Find a SMITH somewhere between Lanarkshire and Otago around the 1880s? When my original notes showed differing information as to which ship they came out on? Wasn't actually that hard at all. The steerage passengers were...

Lorna's Research Diary - what changed, when, sometimes why. Wednesday, 31 December 2014. Has DNA testing come up trumps? Early days yet, but indications are that we may be on the way to proving that Robert FAIRBAIRN. Married to Kate SCOTT and emigrated to Ontario around 1827/8 is indeed a son of Archibald. And Alison (CROSSER) FAIRBAIRN. Do you have any known FAIRBAIRN ancestry" I asked. Yes, a Mary Catherine FAIRBAIRN married to Peter Nelson KELLER.". Updates on Mary's family. Lorna's Research Diary - what changed, when, sometimes why. Saturday, 21 February 2015. MANSONs of Caithness anyone? Have had another great find from DNA testing this week. Although I do suspect that at least part of it was under my nose, un-analysed from a while ago. One of my larger matches on 23andme. Shared genomes, ie we can now see the details of where we match. But the haystack has just got quite a lot smaller. It is looking far more likely to be my Caithness ancestral lines. I don't, to my knowle...
