Glass Crusher

Made of six pipe fittings, this is a cheap and labor-intensive device for reducing glass to small particles. 1) 2 inch x 12 inch pipe nipple. 1) 2 inch pipe cap. 1) 2 inch x 1 inch reducing coupler, or "bell" reducer. 1) 1 inch x 18 inch pipe nipple. 2) 1 inch pipe caps. All the caps are screwed tightly on their respective pipes, with no intention of removing them, but before putting both caps on the 1" pipe, the pipe is slid through the hole in the bell reducer.

Ancient Clay Workshop at Appalachian Center for Crafts, July 1997. At the Appalachian Craft Center in central Tennessee, a variety of crafts are taught. Summer workshops attract students and teachers from around the world. Ancient Clay, conducted by Vince Pitelka, combines hands-on experience in handbuilding techniques with historical perspective via slides, discussion, and examination of actual primitive pottery.
